This story is told and retold in Bengal and maybe around many places of India . It's a tale of Shri Krishna and Ratanti Kali. (Ratanti means “beloved.”)

Krishna was the beloved of Vrindahvan and as always a charmer. Radha was already married to Ayaan.
Every night after everyone would sleep, Radha on hearing the melodious flute of Krishna would run to him and both of them would dance in the meadows and gardens of Vrindahvan. But it didn't escape the eyes of Jatila and Kutila the two sisters-in-law of Radha . They told Ayaan about the adultery of Radha.
Ayaan decided to go after Radha and punish her. So he proceeded, while Krishna had already got a bhanje of this. He told Radha to collect all the wild fruits and flowers she can and sit infront of him with hands folded. Then he turned in Ratanti Kali who is said to be the protector of the universe. When Ayaan came there , he found Radha sitting hands folded and eyes closed infront of Ratanti Kali who was ista or chosen deity for the welfare of him and his family. Instead of punishing her, his respect and trust towards his wife increased and he never disrespected her.
So, when Ratanti kali is worshipped in the month of Phalgun, Krishna is also worshipped with her. In devi puran, it is said that Mother Goddess Kali was reincarnated as Krishna and  Mahadev as Radha.
