When we finally arrived
My head shot out of the blanket at the familiar scent of home "Stop. We're here" the carriage came to a halt as I hopped off rushing into the abyss of trees. It felt better than I remembered! I kept moving leaving the others to trail behind
"I hear you" my whole body relaxed as soon as I saw the figures peel away from the trees taking my hand and pulling me until we reached a little woodland village, the same one I'd grown up in. I may not of been born here, not that I could really know, but I'd always felt like I was meant to be here
The sound of flapping could be heard behind me "This - this was where I really grew up" the two dragons took a good look around examining the village "We didn't expect you to return, little one" to be honest, I hadn't expected to be here ever again either - I'd grown up and left to build a life which I'd failed at so I had no need to return yet here I was
My eyes drifted forward to lay upon the leader "I missed my home" I curtsied with the others bowing in response, as I'd done so many times before - Bakugo may of been the first king I'd been in the presence of but I'd been raised around leaders who took me in as their own, over and over again
"Come to finally announce the engagement?" My eyes shot open wider "trees talk, little one. Did you really think we wouldn't know?" I bit my lip watching as tiny mushroom people shook each around playfully then dizzily topple over while the others laughed pointing at the victim on the floor
"Let us show you to where you'll be staying" my eyes drifted upwards to the network of treehouses dotted with folk from all over that were being helped by the dryads - I never said I was the only one! The society here was so diverse, I couldn't count how many species were now residence here, new people arrived everyday and night hoping for a play to lay low or even settle down
My feet raced until I found a spiral staircase hidden inside a thick tree "Hey! wait for us!" I followed the little creatures leading me into one of the little houses and shutting the door behind me. My companions didn't know that genders were housed separately meaning no one would getting cuddles from me anytime soon
I changed then sniffed out my lovers hoping they'd calmed down "Little one, will you be attending dinner tonight?" I spun around finding an elder smiling at me, he was a gentle little old man who looked to be a mage when he was in his prime suggested by the staff he now used as a walking stick
"I'd be my pleasure, I just need to grab a few people first. They could get lost?" The mage patted my head in between my ears before hobbling in the opposite direction on his way to the banquet, I guess he was hungry - he seemed like he'd been here awhile which meant he knew stealing food from the table was against the rules
Everyone around here called me 'little one' due to the fact I was quite a 'memorable' child. When I peaked in the boys' tree cabin, they looked around the place bewildered and confused - I guess they weren't accustomed to the ways of the forest "Need a hand?"
I recognised the scent of the room, it smelled exactly like the bottle that had run out "Sorry, for how I acted earlier" if not for being catfolk, I wouldn't of heard Bakugo's apology. I'd grown used to him being quiet when he was talking about how he really felt, especially in front of others even if it was Kirishima and I supposed it was the same when the two conversed in front of me
"Yea, it wasn't manly" I giggled slightly, did they really blame themselves? Now I felt bad, if I didn't tell them - they'd end up beating themselves up for something that wasn't their fault, I couldn't let them go through that, or at least not without the truth by their side. Plus it wouldn't be fair since they'd be alone together for a few days,
