Thursday

I sat in the cafeteria next to Oliver, waiting nervously, "Issy it'll be fine."

I nodded, but my leg continued to bounce up and down as I bit my lip.

He placed his hand on my leg, "You'll be great."

Why am I nervous? Because this morning is cheerleading tryouts. This cheer team has always been one of the best in the competitive field here in California.

I sighed, "What if I'm not good enough?"

He gave me a bored look, "Isabella, you're a competitive gymnast, this shit's gonna be easy."

I rolled my eyes at him, but failed to fight the small smile that worked it's way on my lips.

"Okay girls! Come into the gym and we'll start tryouts." The coach of the team yelled out.

I looked over at a smiling Oliver, "Go be amazing." He said with a reassuring gaze.

I nodded and followed the large crowd of girls into the gym.

"Okay, go change into a pair of spandex and a sports bra. That's what we will be having you wear everyday we have practice." The assistant coach said.

We all filed into the locker rooms and began to change, using the lockers we were given for our gym classes.

I heard a scoff from behind me, "It's you."

I turned around, already knowing who was speaking, but to my surprise the voice was pointed at me.

Britney.

I rolled my eyes and put on a fake smile, "Don't seem so happy to see me Britney. I mean you'll probably be seeing a lot of me if you keep hanging around my brother and his friends."

She scowled at me, "I don't know why Drew even takes the time to hang around you. I mean just look at you, you make me look even better than I already do."

I let out a laugh as I looked down at myself, "Oh right because my abs are so unattractive. Do you have abs Britney?"

She scoffed, "W-whatever." She stuttered.

I turned around and smirked to myself, putting my clothes and cheer shoes on.

As I walked out of the locker room, I threw my hair into a high ponytail and made my way over to the coaches.

Nobody was done changing yet, so I decided I'd talk to them for a moment.

Before I approached them, they turned to me and smiled, "Are you new here?" The head coach asked.
