*Dixie's POV*
Once Katniss had gone back to sleep, I closed the nursery door before walking back to the sofa where I was met with a fuming Matt.
"Let's talk."
"Oh no, I don't think so. All you can do is fucking shout at me." Matt spat bitterly. Ouch, that hurt.
"I don't think we can get married if this continues, Matthew. We don't have good communication."
"Bullshit." Matt said, scoffing. The annoyed, defensive look on his face dropped when I took off the ring, placing it on the coffee table.
"Are you breaking this off just to prove a point?"
"Maybe. But I am serious. I don't hate Hallie...it's just I don't get why you're so jealous. Fuck, now I feel so stupid. Shouldn't the roles be reversed? You were the one who had an ex over without telling me first!"
"Please. Put the ring back on." Matt begged. I sighed, sitting down beside him, taking his hands into mine, "I really don't want us to break up but it's a serious issue. We need better communication and I don't want a shit excuse like 'I forgot to tell you'. It's unacceptable. I swear if you fuck up again I'm really leaving you."
I put the ring back on and he hugged me, panting, "Thank God."
"This isn't a kiss and make up situation, okay? We got to work on it."
"Okay."
"Promise?"
"Promise." He said.
"Now let's do wedding planning." I said, heaving a box of wedding magazines and notebooks out from under the coffee table. I flipped open magazines, pointing at flower arrangements. But then, Matt said, "Why don't we do something simple at 51?"
"That sounds good." I said, smiling, before keeping everything. Although I was disappointed that we weren't going to have a fancy wedding, I was happy because I got to have it at a place which I spent half my life in.
Although I had been planning my wedding since I was five.
Dressed in a long pillow case, galloping around the house.
Buying a cheap plastic tiara and pasting jewel stickers on them.
Making bracelet rings.
Pretending to have a wedding at kindergarten.
Oh, the memories.
But I guess it was okay.
Because I was marrying someone I loved.
I was marrying the father to my beautiful daughter.
I was marrying the captain of Truck 81.
I was marrying him.
I was marrying Matthew 'Matt' Casey.
And boy, was I looking forward to it.
