Chapter fourteen

Virgil nods: If you get caught it won't be by my hand, so just stay out of more trouble. You guys will probably get a pass about this anyways since you gave important information.

He got up, then put a hand on Janus' shoulder, giving an awkward smile: I know it's been a while but you're still like a brother to me. ]

Janus relaxed, nodding before Virgil turned away and left, going back to the car where Thomas was waiting.

Virgil: Got the address with no problems.

Thomas: Okay, should we send in cops?

Virgil shakes his head: No, tell them that Janus Keltzer and Zyler Linus aren't the people theyre looking for. Its just a coincidence with the description.

Thomas: Wait but—

Virgil gets into the car before firmly speaking: Tell them or I'll do it myself.

Back inside the house Janus sinks back against the couch, staring up at the ceiling. He doesn't move as Zyler sits next to him, the taller man putting his legs in his lap.

Zyler: So... think he's telling the truth?

Janus, without hesitation: Yes. Virgil can't lie to save his life, and even if he could I'd know. I babysat him as a child, though I was technically a kid too, just more mature.

Zyler nods, keeping his legs on Janus' lap while moving to lean his head on his shoulder, the two just sitting and contemplating things in silence on the couch.

*With Thomas, Remy, Emile,Logan,and Virgil *

Time skip

Thomas, Remy, Emile,Logan,and Virgil drive to the address. They park the truck in an empty lot about two blocks away.

Thomas: Now, we don't know what condition they might be in. Try to extract them as best as possible. Got it?

Everyone agrees. The group enters the building. They see a mermaid that isn't Roman and Patton.

Thomas: Stay calm. I'm Thomas. I would like to help you-

Remus: Thomas? You're the guy Roman was talking about! They're in Philip's office. You gotta help them.

Thomas: Thank you.

Thomas goes into the office and is greeted with a gruesome sight. Roman is floating unconscious in the water. Bruises and cuts lacing his skin ,a gag securely in his mouth.Patton is awake. He's out of the water and weakly scratching his scales. He only has bruises where it looks like someone would hold him.

Patton: ThOmas...

Thomas: We're going get you guys out of here. Logan,Virgil come here I found them.

Logan and Virgil come in and doesn't waste anytime. Logan pulls Roman out of the water. Logan: I will meet you guys at the truck.Thomas helps the anxious teen carry Patton. By the time Thomas,Virgil and Patton get to the truck everything is already ready. Thomas and Virgil sets down Patton. Thomas gets in the car and starts driving. They couldn't do anything until they get back to the sanctuary.
