Chap. 26 ~ Ivy the Venom Scythe

I wake up and roll over to see a second bed, when I try to sit up, I grab my head in agony. "Gah!"

"Wow! Take it easy, Anna." A voice says from beside me.

My vision is still a little blurry from just waking up, but I am able to make out the figure, "Huh? Levin...? What am I here? I though I was-..."

"Dante found you semi-unconscious on the out skirts of town."

"Did Dante see anyone else near me?"

"No, he only found you about 2 hours ago." Levin explains.

"Oh..."

"Umm... Not to be nosy or anything but... Were you... drunk?" Levin questions, carefully.

"Oh Irene...." I groan, "How do you know about my drinking problems? Oh my... But, no. I wasn't."

"Nicole told me..."

"Of course she did. She always loves telling stories about my time in the village." I mutter.

"Yes, most of them are quite hilarious."

"Oh my Irene... She is so going to get a beating from me." I clench my hand into a fist.

"Anyway, what happened last night?" Levin asks.

"I'm not sure... All I know is that I was follow-... I saw a suspicious character leaving the island and decided to follow them... When I made it to the outskirts of Phoenix Drop, I... I can't remember what happened after that."

"Hmm... Alright, I'll tell mom about the suspicious character you saw."

"I need to go find-." I attempt to stand up but Levin pushes me back down.

"I'm sorry, Anna." Levin says. "But, you need to stay here. When Dante brought you here you were acting as if you were drunk."

"Huh? But... I haven't had any kind of... Since... Oh no..." I mutter, remembering my night in Scaleswind.

"What's wrong?" Levin questions.

"Uhh... Nothing. It's fine."

"I have to go do my Lord duties, please stay here and rest. I will have Alexis come and check on you every so often."

"Alright..." I mutter. I lay back down and my eye lids become heavy. Slowly, I begin to fall asleep.

I watch as Anna slowly falls unconscious. "Hmm.... I better leave her to rest."

I walk out of my house and head into the village, all the villagers seem to still be asleep. I walk through the peaceful town doing my daily tasks when I hear panicked voices coming from the gate. Dante and Alexis are already trying to call down the panicked people.

"Dante? What's going on?!" I ask.

"The Tu'La refugees were attacked on their way here from Scaleswind. Many are wounded and injured, luckily none died." Dante explains.

"Alexis, go inform Malachi of the situation and tell him to head to the Island to get Aphmau, Dante bring all the injured people inside." Once I finish giving my instructions, I rush to the people and begin helping everyone I can.

After helping as many people as I can, I head back into the village only to run into my Katelyn and Mikai. We talk for a few minutes about the situation when Aphmau runs over to us.

"Mom!" We're over here!" I announce.

"Levin."

"You don't know how happy I am to see you right now!" I say.
