As me and Draco continued walking down the halls of Hogwarts our hands slowly fell apart and into our own pockets as we reached the more populated corridors. It was our time to eat in The Great Hall. As we entered the room it was filled with chatter from all the students conversations. Since we were slightly late everyone was already seated, I trailed behind Draco while we walked in silence towards our spot. Silence meant nothing to us, it was neither good nor bad, we were both comfortable enough around each other that we could be silent in one another's presence and it not be awkward.

The Great Hall really lived up to its name, the four long tables stretched up the length of the room and each table sat members of the four different houses. The house tables were as follows, starting from the left side, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and finishing off the right was Slytherin. The hall was lit from thousands of white candle flames which danced above our heads, seamlessly floating in mid air. At meal times the tables were lined with glittering golden plates and goblets which sparkled in the flickering candle light. The staffs table was located at the front of the hall and stretched along width instead of length ways unlike the house tables did.

We made our way over to the right side, whenever we were in the hall Dracos hair would always turn golden underneath the candle light and his eyes would show glimpses of blue as the flames reflection bounced from his eyes. We sat down opposite Goyle and Blaise who looked unamused that we were late. "Where have you two been?" Blaise hushed leaning over the table with a wink.
"Jade was hanging around with Newt, I had to go get her" Draco said with an eye roll. Blaise and Goyle looked confused, "and how do you know where Newts nerd lab was?" Goyle laughed. I smiled smugly looking at Draco, "thats exactly what I said too." Me, Goyle and Blaise burst out laughing at Draco, the truth was neither any of us knew how Draco found his way up to the Magizoology lab.

By the time we were done giggling Draco had already started eating without us. I grabbed some freshly made bread out of the woven basket infront of us and started picking at it. The dough was soft and still warm, in the muggle world my favourite side was anything with bread: garlic bread, french toast, bread and oil, absolutely anything. Our main was beef casserole and as disgusting as it sounds it was such a warm and flavourful dish, quite the comfort food. Blaise and Goyle started a conversation between themselves about which girls they wanted to date, they were always like this despite neither of them ever actually having a girlfriend.

Out of the corner of my eye I could see Draco staring at me. "Are you alright there?" I asked without looking in his direction, I had picked up my spoon and plunged it into the warm beef casserole. Draco stopped looking at me and grabbed a piece of bread from the basket. "I'm just worried you're going to smell like beef casserole to our date tonight" Draco said taking a bite of his bread. I almost spat out my first spoonful, "what?!" I said laughing. I looked over with Draco and he looked very amused.

He had a playful look in his eyes which he only got when he felt comfortable to show a part of himself he didn't show all to often, everyone was too engrossed in their own conversation or eating their food to be paying attention to what we were doing. "I want to have a date with you tonight but not if you're going to turn up smelling like this casserole" Draco said with a mouthful of bread. He plucked off a bit of bread from the slice he was holding and offered it to me. "How kind" I said as he shoved it into my open mouth. He then placed his hand onto my thigh and shoved the rest of the bread into his mouth in one bite.

"So it's settled then" Blaise said, while him and Goyle both turned over to face me and Draco. "What's settled?" Draco asked squeezing my thigh. I tucked back into my beef casserole while waiting for Blaise to answer. "As its winter me and Goyle decided we need girlfriends." I swallowed my mouthful, "wait having a girlfriend is a seasonal accessory?" I asked. Blaise and Goyle went to speak at the same time, "No we mean winter at Hogwarts gets you feeling lonely when all the couples are out shopping and on cute trips together, you and Draco will be cosying up this winter for sure" Goyle said. Draco nodded agreeing which surprised me, maybe i'd get to have Christmas dinner at the Malfoy Manner. "Well, who have you got your eyes on?" I asked eager to know their little crush's. "We'll surprise you" Goyle replied quickly. "What do you mean surprise us?" Draco asked while checking to see if I had just as a confused look on my face as he did. "On Saturday we'll all go down to Hogsmead on a triple date, you'll see which girls we have on the day" Blaise said. "Is that just incase if you told us now they might actually say no?" I laughed. "Why do you want us on your triple date?" Draco asked in a higher tone. "It'll be fun" Goyle replied. "Plus having Jade with us means she can actually make friends with some of the girls here." Blaise followed up. "Right it's a date" I said rolling my eyes.

It was true, I haven't got many friends here at Hogwarts but Gloyle and Blaise say I'm the female version of Draco. Cold and unapproachable. When I first shifted to Hogwarts I got sorted into Slytherin and my first interaction with Draco Malfoy was in potions class with Professor Snape. The class was learning how to make Amortentia for the first time. Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in the wizarding world and each person smells something different, it reminds you of the things you find most attractive.

Going round the room each student would state what they could smell. One girl said she could smell freshly mown grass, new parchment and knitted blankets, she didn't realise it but it was obvious to me that it related to the shaggy haired ginger kid who was sat next to her.

Once it came round to me I could smell fresh green apples, expensive cologne made up of fresh mint, a burst of bergamot and exhilarating pepper, while also getting wiffs of mahogany wood and quidditch equipment. My detail analysis gained small gasps from the class and some began to whisper to each other. Professor Snape looked shocked as his eyes landed on Draco Malfoy who was sat on the other side of the room from me. Draco looked a bit flustered, but the class swiftly moved on.

After class Draco approached me while we were on our own and demanded to know who I was. I explained what I was doing there and he couldn't get his head around that I had came from the muggle world. Draco insisted he could tell I was a pure blood. I perhaps could be, since then Draco kept me close he was intrigued by how I was there and how unapproachable I was, he liked it. He didn't have many friends so I quickly became friendly with Blaise and Goyle. My only other friend in Hogwarts being that of Newt Scamander who I had met when being sorted, I hadn't really had any time to have any friends who were girls.

Lunch was now over as students began to rise from their seats and slowly filter out of The Great Hall. We walked down the length of the table meeting Blaise and Goyle at the end and we all made our way out. While strolling next to Blaise I checked my bag to make sure I had my supplies for our next class and headed to divination, my favourite.
