Shifting x Draco

Snow

The cool air hit my warm face as I stirred emerging from the forest green bed sheets. I turned over, flipping to the cooler side of the pillow and moved in closer to Dracos warm body next to me. Slowly opening my eyes I could make out a gentle sunrise beyond the curtains that were drawn closed on the wooden four poster bed. It was a Sunday and my head was still heavy from the late night we had, me and Draco spent Saturday with Blaise and Goyle down in Hogsmeade. To my surprise they both kept their word and showed up with dates. Accompanying Blaise was a Slytherin girl, Daphne Greengrass, while Goyle was joined by Hannah Abbott a HufflePuff.

We spend the day in the snow and in the three broom sticks drinking butter beer. Draco started buying rounds of vodka to spice the day up. Hannah kept complimenting my outfit, a white tennis skirt with Dracos oversized quidditch jumper over my white collard shirt. Hannah wore something more appropriate for the weather, she had on black and white chequered trousers, a white crop top with a yellow sunflower embroidered in the middle and a yellow cropped knitted cardigan over the shoulders. This was the first time I had seen Goyle so awkward and quiet, usually he was running his mouth to whoever was in ear shot. Blaise on the other hand couldn't keep his hands off of Daphne and she was the same back, Draco joked that they both drank Amortentia.

We played rounds of spin the bottle and truth or dare. I took full advantage of making everyone make a fool out of themselves, I even dared Draco to go be nice to a bunch of girls at the bar, we were all in fits of laughter back at the table when one of them tried to touch his hand and he threw himself to the other side of the room to avoid her. Once Hannah dared Blaise and Daphne to kiss they couldn't stop after that, they went and got a table to themselves while the four of us kept drinking. Goyle went out and brought us all back pizzas to eat to try sober us up from the alcohol. Draco was a hopeless romantic drunk, his tough persona dropped and he wanted me to sit on his lap the entire time, his arms wrapped around my waist.

I got to know Hannah quite well while having drinks, turns out Newt always spoke about me in the Hufflepuff common room so she knew things about me before I even told her. I really needed to tell Newt to keep his mouth shut. Hannah also had an interest in magical creatures so we bonded over that. Hannah, in her drunken state, told me about her crush on Cedric Diggory and that she was only here to try make him jealous, he had been showing interest in a Ravenclaw girl as he was overheard saying that girls in Hufflepuff were just not adventurous enough for him.

"Jade if I hear you speak Diggorys name again you'll regret it." Draco spat towards me. I don't understand why he hated Diggory so much, he was a year older than us and one of the least threatening boys at Hogwarts, however he was quite goodlooking. "Shut it Draco or i'll leave you for Cedric!" I replied spitefully. Draco slammed his glass on the table spilling his drink instantly, Blaise and Daphne heads shot in our direction while Goyle caught Dracos glass from toppling over. Our table fell quiet. "Oh is that so Jade, right then I guess you won't have a problem with going to speak to him. Go on he's over at the bar alone." Draco said pointing over towards a crowded bar while Cedric stood alone. Without saying a word I got up out my seat while staring madly into Dracos eyes. He was testing me. Jealously grew over Hannah's face while I shot her a wink and made my way through people over to Cedric.

"Well Cedric Diggory.. who would've thought you'd be alone at a bar?" Cedric turned around after hearing his name.
"Oh Jade, can I help you?" He said innocently.
"I think you can" I smiled turning my head over towards my table to see Dracos face turning red. "You see my crazy boyfriend.."
"You mean Draco Malfoy?" Cedric rolled his eyes cutting me off.
"Yes, draco. Well he's throwing one of his usual tantrums. They don't know what i'm speaking to you about so i'm taking this opportunity to give you Hannah's number." I started to write down Hannah's number on a napkin. Cedrics eyes grew confused.
"Why're you giving this to me?"
"Oh sorry, she really likes you, i'm doing her a favour, she's trying to make you jealous by being here with Goyle" I laughed.
"Gregory Goyle?" Cedric laughed back.
"Yes can you believe it?! Please just put the poor girl out of her misery" I said.
"Just tell her to come on over, i'm here alone anyway I needed to get away from Hogwarts" Cedric said while putting the napkin in his pocket.

I turned on my heels and strutted back to our table with a grin. Draco refused to even look at me. "There you go Hannah, he's ready for you" I laughed.
"What?" Draco and Hannah said simultaneously.
"I told Cedric about Hannah's little crush, he wants to have a drink with you Hannah."
Hannah got up quickly and came in for a hug.
"Thankyou" she whispered in my ear, she straightened up her cardigan and hurried over to Cedric at the bar.

Draco laughed and shoved me off my chair, he was relieved I didn't actually try leave him for Cedric. We both made fun of Goyle for losing his date and as it got later the three broom sticks got fuller with more and more students enjoying a Saturday night. The bottle of fire whisky came out as we finished off the last pizza we had and Blaise and Daphne joined us back at our table.

As it got later into the night the bottle of fire whisky became dry and our pizza box was empty. My social timer was running out and I became tired, the thought of my cozy bed became more appealing. I sat back in my chair to rest my back while listening to the others chattering away. I peered over to the bar passed the crowds of people to see Cedric and Hannah still there enjoying themselves. I watched them for a minuet as I grew more tired.

My eyes fluttered open and I was instantly smacked in the face by the freezing cold air, I looked up to see Draco carrying me bridal style out of Hogsmeade towards the castle, I must've fallen asleep. The streets were dark and covered in snow and the warm glow of the street lights lit the pathway around us, making Dracos hair glow golden. Nuzzled up close to his chest his cologne was overbearing, I choked on the smell and Draco looked down.

"Jade you fell asleep, I thought it would be best for us to head back" He smiled.
"What time is it?" I asked sleepily.
"We left the pub at 12am" He said putting me down, my boots hit the snow and I lost my balance. I tumbled and grabbed the stone wall for balance. "I forgot I've had a drink" I laughed. I found my feet and shoved my cold hands deep into my pockets. Draco took off his scarf and wrapped it around my neck.
"You're never dressed for the weather Jade" He playfully rolled his eye. We laughed and started walking towards the castle. Draco trailed behind quite quickly and before I could glance behind me a snow ball was hit over the back of my head.
"Owwww!" I look back to see Draco laughing drunkly at me. I shot down to the ground and grabbed a lump of snow, it was cold against my bare hands, quickly I bundled it into a ball a launched it back at Draco. It hit him on his slytherin badge over his heart.
"Owww my heart" He called out dramatically laughing, holding his hand on his chest.
"Your heart is already ice cold Draco, don't be dramatic" I shouted back. His mouth dropped open in shock and he came running up to me. He picked me up and put me on top of the stone wall.

Draco brushed my snowy hair out of my face and behind my ears. He didn't say a word just looked at me, leaving me confused. I was looking back at Draco, his skin was pale and his blonde hair covered in snowflakes, all I could think of was the coldness on the back of my legs from sitting on the stone wall.

I parted my lips to ask if we should keep moving and before I could say a word Dracos lips crashed onto mine. He wrapped his cold hands under the back of my coat holding me close, I shivered as his hands touched my bare skin. Our lips moved together while I moved my arms up around his neck. His lips were warm, we made out and the wind roared around us. We pulled away at the same time and he lifted back off the wall and placed me down on the floor.
"Let's spend the night at my dorm" Draco demanded.
