Chapter 6:
He sat next to me, kicked off his shoes, and he flicked his hair looking at me with a smile. "So...?" I asked. His smile grew bigger, and I arched an eyebrow.
"Yeah. So your sister thought she had to force me to come?" He asked. I nodded, making him laugh loudly.
"Don't believe anything she says." He smiled and I tilted my head. "It's okay. I'm not one of those people who are really mean, I'm pretty mellow. It's just you looked like you could kill my babe, and that won't fly with me."
"Oh." I said, making him laugh again.
"So what happened back there?" He asked.
"I lost it." I said reminding me of the woods, when I almost killed Dustin. I shook my head not wanting to remember it anymore than I have to.
"Well no durr. I mean, why." He said walking to the window sill.
"I don't know. I just had enough." I said looking down. Sasha walked into the room, and sat next to me.
"Deklin, honey. Leave him alone." She said with a laugh. "My turn." She told him, hugging me to her.
"Or...we could share." He compromised. She twisted a piece of hair, and nodded.
"Fine. But I call next to him." She said playfully. I rolled my eyes, and the doorbell rang. Deklin disappeared, and answered it I guess.
"DUNCAN!" He yelled. I got up, and walked downstairs, and to the door. I stopped when I saw her. She was in a grey sweatshirt, and faded blue jeans, her hair was the same way it was a few hours ago. Taylor.
I began to shut the door, but she put her hand up. I looked up at the window, and saw Sasha and Deklin looking at me. I rolled my eyes. "What?" I asked annoyed.
"Can we talk?" She asked. I shook my head 'no' and began shutting the door again. "Come on Duncan. Really? What's your problem. Why do you push away from everyone?"
"Because I don't need anyone." I said.
"That's not what it looks like. You look hurt, like you need someone to talk to." She said taking a step closer. I stepped back.
"You're wrong." I said. She stepped forward again, pushing the door open farther.
"Am I?" She challenged. The rage bubbled at my surface, threatening to break through.
"Go away." I said starting to close the door again.
"No. Why are you pushing everyone away like that?" I opened the door to glare at her.
"What about you! You have no friends that follow you around. Why do you push everyone way?" I yelled at her.
"Because I'm not good with people." She said.
"Then why are you throwing yourself at me?" I yelled at her. She gazed up in my eyes, and said,
"Because you arn't human."
"What!?" I screamed, I felt a hiss rising in my thoat, and the urge to pounce at her, was overpowering me.
"Duncan. It's time to tell your friend goodbye." Said Sasha. Taylor didn't move. She looked at me, and I saw a tear fall out of her eye. I caught it before it got to her chin.
"Don't cry." I said softly.
"How can't I? I always get these things wrong. That's why I'm no good with people. I'm sorry. I have to go." She said running to her car. I watched her feeling helpless. I looked away, and let a tear fall from my eye.
