Callum's POV

Her beauty was enchanting. The way her golden blonde hair swished behind her, the way the gold flecks in her brown eyes shimmered under the sun, the way her whole face lit up as she smiled, was all enchanting. Her laugh was melody to my ears. She was like a magnet, I couldn't stop being attracted to her, she was like a force I was being pulled to.

I couldn't stop thinking about her ever since I met her....

I had gone with my father to a meeting at Havenfield, he had wanted to teach me the "proper way of ruling" I didn't really care much about it, so I wandered around the castle.

BANG! I walked straight into someone. I look around to see a girl with sunflower hair wearing a dusty rose silk dress perfectly hugging her curves frantically trying to pick up the sweets that were on the platter.

"I'm so sorry," I apologise, trying to help her pick up the sweets she stops and looks up at me with a confused expression.

"I'm sorry but who are you? I'm not trying to be rude or anything just haven't seen you here..." she stops, looking at me. Her voice, just her voice, sends me to cloud nine. I was snapped out of my thoughts when a hand is raised in front of me

"Hello, are you ok?" she asks again waving her hand in front of me

"Oh yeah umm I came here with my father from Gilramore, my name is prince Callum Elrand," I say trying to sound calm, but my heart was beating at a million miles per second.

"Oh yes I do remember my father mentioning King Elrand would be visiting, well my name is Princess Sophie," she says extending her arm to help me up.

As soon as her hand contacts mine it sends shivers up my arm. Come on Callum, keep yourself together I mentally scold myself.

"You look nice today," I say. Nice really Callum nice this girl does not simply look nice she looks gorgeous even ravishing.

"Thanks," she says shyly, her cheeks tinting pink.

"Umm I do need some help making another batch of custard bursts if you have nowhere else to be you could help me," Sophie says

"Sure, sorry about that by the way," I tell Sophie

"No worries everyone makes mistakes," she says happily

On our way to the kitchens, a boy runs into me. He looks around 9. Old enough to know not to be running around a prince and princess. I grab him by the collar.

"Look, boy how dare you disrespect the future king of Gilramore," I spat at him still holding him by the collar.

"S-s-sor-ry" the boy stutters not looking me in the eye

"Sorry. Sorry, won't do it, boy. I could have your head for this," I growl throwing him against a wall

"CALLUM" Sophie shouts her face disgusted "he is just a boy"

"A boy who disrespects a future king" I state continuing to walk, but Sophie doesn't follow instead she walks over to the boy who is still lying on the floor.

"Are you ok?" she asks, helping the boy up I feel my hands clench how could she be siding with a peasant boy?

All my anger fades away when I look at Sophie again, she is caring and compassionate. She would make a great mother, I think. Really, Callum, you're not even married yet.

The rest of the day Sophie doesn't look me in the eye. After finishing the custard bursts, I couldn't stand it. Sophie hadn't spoken a word to me. I needed to hear her melodious voice.

"Are you ignoring me?" I ask Sophie. She is sitting on the bench opposite me reading a book we had gone outside waiting for the custard bursts to cool down. She looks up slightly annoyed

"What do you think?" she says aggravated. Well, at least she is talking, that's a good start.

"Ok but why?" I ask. She looks up again rolling her eyes

"Really you don't know why? Wow, you're dumber than I thought. You shouldn't have treated that boy like that. He was just a boy, and so what that he ran into, you ran into me this morning did I threaten your head did I throw you against a wall no because like I said this morning we all make mistakes" she stands up "I thought you were different but you are just like every other stuffy noble thinking you are so high and mighty." and with that, she turns around and heads inside.

I just sat there in shock um wow no one had ever said that to me, but I honestly thought it was quite cute when she got all feisty. Don't worry Sophie darling someday I will make you my queen.

* 5 years later *

"And with the power invested in me, I dub thee king"

I am now officially King of Gilramore.

"So what is your first act as a king?" the general asks me.

"Declare war upon Havenfield every good king needs a queen does he not?" I tell the counsel.

Don't worry Sophie you will be My Queen
