Sophie's POV

I open the doors to my room and my jaw drops. The curtains were crepe pink fading into an off white pulled to the side by gold fabric braided to look like rope. Intricately cut diamonds hung from the ceiling pulled together by gold chains creating a beautiful chandelier. The sun crept into the room through an intricate lace covering the windows dulling the harsh mid-day sunlight. A king size canopy bed with silky pearl white sheets sat in the centre of the room a nightstand on either side of the bed. An Elmwood study table was placed in the corner of the room, pots of ink and parchment neatly lined up. A double door opened up to an abundance of dresses every colour of the spectrum. Biana's eyes widened in excitement when she saw the dresses. I chuckled lightly not wanting to think of the makeovers that were soon to come. Another door led to a bathroom, the bathtub was more like a pool with a waterfall shower as green plants and succulents lined the windows.

"Wow," I mumble. Yeah, this room was nice, but it just didn't have the same homey feel as Havenfield. Yes, it was grand and beautiful, but I missed the sweet scents of the flowers sewn into the carpet. The smell of mother's freshly baked Mallowmelt wafting into the room from the kitchen which was parallel to my room just how I liked, as I was always the first one to reach the mallowmelt. I sighed trying to suppress the tears burning my eyes recalling the simple times when all I cared about was getting to the mallowmelt before Grady could finish them all. A loud squeal broke my racing thoughts

"EEEEEEK" Biana squealed in excitement as she ran over to my wardrobe which was more like another room.

"Sophie we only have 3hrs to get you all prettied up" I chuckle lightly knowing I would be turned into Biana's little doll.

I follow Biana into the wardrobe and gawk at the dresses not wanting to think of the horrors that might happen if I actually wear those dresses. I just want to sink into the mountains upon mountains of tulle wanting to disappear from reality.

"This one!" Biana exclaims as she pulls out a light pink and navy blue dress, the top half of the dress was v neck and navy blue. The bottom half of the dress was pastel pink with a single piece of sheer blue tulle covering the bottom. Flowers were scattered at the bodice of the dress. It wasn't that bad I thought to myself, but a wave of grief overcame me as I remembered Biana used to love dressing up with her mother in the most gorgeous gowns I had ever seen. She now simply wore a brown tunic that went to her knees with a white blouse underneath it. Suddenly an idea hit me.

"Biana how about I doll you up too?" Biana hesitates "it will be fun trust me like good old times remember?" I said my mind flashing over to when Biana would torture me with her endless makeovers. I expected Biana to jump up excitedly, but she stood there in silence contemplating the idea, she sighs as she says

"sorry, soph but if the king catches me..." Biana says

"Ok, but he won't catch you I'll make sure of it ok?" I tell Biana reassuringly.

"Ok, but make sure it is kind of plain" she says slowly

I nod before I scan my wardrobe before I lay my eyes upon a gorgeous dress. Simple yet elegant.

"that one" I say. It was a pale baby blue the bodice was covered in blue lace littered in pale pink flowers. The bottom of the dress was made of a pale baby blue wispy fabric that flowed down like a waterfall.

Biana beamed as she saw the dress

"you know me so well" she said as she walked over to retrieve the dress.

"ok meet in your room in five minutes" Biana said as she went to put on the dress in my bathroom.

*5 minutes later*

I was patiently waiting at my dresser for Biana. When she emerged from the bathroom, I was happy to see Biana. Her faced beamed with happiness and excitement as she twirled in front of the mirror her dress flaring out.

"thank you soph" Biana said overjoyed

"no worries Bi. now shall we get started" I say gesturing to my hair

"of course," Biana said staring intensely at my hair making me self-conscious

"is it that bad" I say

"oh yes, it is bad but don't worry I can work miracles" she says calmly

"heeyy" I grumble stomping my foot and crossing my arms

"oh, stop grumbling you know it looks like a crow nest up there now hurry up!" Biana said dragging me to sit at my vanity

Dozens of hair elixirs and makeup caked on my face later I look into the mirror. My jaw drops at who is staring back at me. No that is not the clumsy Sophie Foster. The young woman in front of me looks elegant and regal, fragile yet powerful.

"Biana you were right you can work miracles" I exclaim twirling my self in the mirror admiring myself

A triumph Ent smirk curls Biana's lips as she says "mhm sure can"

Before I can come up with something snarky comment to retort with, loud pounding on the door startles me

"Princess Sophie, your presence is requested in the dining room in 15 minutes" a brittle voiced boomed from the other side. Dulling the mood.

"coming, I'll be there shortly" I respond

Shuffling and metal clanging indicated that the soldier had left. I sigh in relief.

"we should start going, the dining room is on the other side of the palace" Biana says sadly

"yeah... ok" I say heavy hearted

We start walking towards the dining room in a glum doleful silence.

"don't worry Sophie it gets better trust me" Biana says as we near the dining room

"funny, someone told me the exact same thing this morning" I say

"because it is the truth, don't worry Sophie just keep your head up high and be the strong woman you are" Biana says confidently as we reach the dining room

"thanks Bi" I say

"no worries soph and... good luck. I'll be right outside the door if you need me" she says as the door opens with a soft swoosh

Biana and I share nervous glances as I step into the dining room, head held up high.
