Still In The Dark Pt3

Cole: "ad Victorium brothers"

I put my hand on his shoulder plate

Me: "I'm sure they fulfilled their duty gloriously"

Cole: "that they did now let's get back to the bunker the elder is gonna want to hear about this"

(Timeskip)

Jake: "y'all are back good timing we just got back not too long ago"

Cole: "good let's get these holotapes to the elder"

We followed cole and jake down to the bunker and entered the 1st section making our way to the second cole stopped he looked nervous

Me: "something wrong?"

Cole: "I don't know about this man I mean I wasn't even supposed to be outside to begin with"

Me: "once the elder sees these holotapes he won't care besides your head Paladin already approved you going in and out so I'm sure the elder will approve now come on let's go"

I said as we entered the second part of the bunker and entered the elders room

Cole: "h-hello elder we retrieved the holotapes you asked for"

Elder McNamara: "knight you disobeyed the order of the lockdown you know your not supposed to leave this bunker and you dare show your face back in this bunker"

Hardin: "enough elder it was my call to send him with his brother to retrieve the holotapes if anything punish me elder"

Elder McNamara: "head Paladin and knight from this moment on y'all are banished from this-"

Me: "this is bullshit if we hadn't had my brother with us we probably would have never found those holotapes I mean did you ever take that into consideration?"

Elder McNamara: "you stay out of this situation outsider"

I pulled out my revolver and aimed it at him

Me: "I don't think so"

Two brotherhood of steel guards pointed their laser rifles at my head as jason pointed two laser pistols at their heads

Hardin: "ENOUGH I think we may be getting off on the wrong foot here so let's all just lower our weapons and talk this out"

When he finished we all holstered our weapons and just stayed quiet for about a minute until cole decided to speak

Cole: "elder I know this lockdown is meant to protect us but for fucks sake this has gone on for far too long this has to end"

Me: "I may have a solution how about if we finish all tasks for y'all you agree to lift this lockdown disagree well there's always plan b"

I just stared at the elder, awaiting a reaction out of him after what seemed like twenty minutes he finally gave me my answer.

Elder McNamara: "I will agree to your demands as long as you do not give away our location understood?"

Me: "you have our word as long as my brother still tags along with me."

Elder McNamara: "yes he can continue helping you with your tasks don't push it now your next objective is pretty similar to your previous one but instead of retrieving holotapes off dead men you will be finding three scouts and asking for their reports use the phrase are the bears still hunting us and they should give up their reports now get on with it."

(Timeskip)

Jason: "are the bears still hunting us I guess that means they're scouting the NCR."

Cole: "correct, this chapter of the brotherhood of steel has had many hostilities with the NCR. Hell, it was our defeat at Helios that put us in a lockdown in the first place; well I say ours, but really when I first arrived in the Mojave was when this chapter went into lockdown *sigh* and I was so close to finding you."

Me: "how did you locate my position anyway?"

Cole: "after the battle for project purity I had many recon teams try to locate you... or at least something that could help me find you. Many months passed and we had nothing, but then one day we found a device that could access pre war military records, and so I found your location in the Mojave desert. I took a vertibird here and almost as soon as I entered the bunker we went into lockdown. I wasn't allowed to leave."

Me: "sounds like you went through hell to find me."

Cole: "it sure was hard to find you but I wouldn't call it hell... anyway, let's find these scouts the first one is located near the NCR correctional facility. Come on, let's go"

(Timeskip)

BOS scout 1: "approach slowly waster if you have no business with me then leave."

Jason: "the elder sends word. Are the bears still hunting us?"

BOS scout 1: "I've observing the penal facility over there. The prisoners formed a riot and quickly killed all the guards. It's strange that the NCR hasn't attempted to retake this facility... here give this holotape to the elder."

Jake: "wheres the second scout?"

Cole: "near nipton"

(Timeskip)

Jake: "the elder sends word. Are the bears still hunting us?"

BOS scout 2: "ah hello Jake. I've been observing the town up ahead. Slavers dressed as Roman soldiers attacked the town a few weeks ago; burned their whole town and killed everyone in it. It's strange... because an NCR outpost is near the town and yet they haven't dealt with the slavers. That either means they can't or won't deal with it. Give this holotape to the elder"

Me: "where to now?"

Cole: "we have a scout near the NCR camp at forlorn hope."

(Timeskip)

Cole: "the elder sends word. Are the bears still hunting us?"

BOS scout 3: "cole? What the hell are you doing out here... has the lockdown been lifted?"

Cole: "I'm afraid not, but pretty soon it will be. Now, again, are the bears still hunting us?"

BOS scout 3: "right I've been observing the NCR camp behind me. Down there is a town called Nelson. Some slavers, calling themselves the Legion, captured it from NCR. So far the two sides are in a stalemate with both sides making small raids on eachother, but no full scale assaults Bring this holotape to the elder and be safe out here"

Cole: "you too ad Victorium brother."

Jake: "let's get the hell out of here."
