Only You

Kate pouted when her friends just laughed at her after she told them that Jeric and her are dating now. Her friends don't want to believe her because they know how cold and distant Jeric is to everyone inside the school even with Kate. 

"I can't believe that Kate improved her sense of humor now. This is her most funniest joke we ever heard, right?" Yesha said, while laughing.

 Natalie placed her right hand over Kate's shoulder. "It's okay, sis. We all know how much you like our newest classmate. You don't have to make a funny story like this just to make us laugh."

 Natalie and Yesha continued laughing while Kate is just glaring at them while pouting.

 'I can't believe that I'm friends with these idiots.' Kate said to herself.

They are currently inside a fast food restaurant; eating snacks. Today is Saturday so they are currently having their hang-out day. Kate just remain silent until her friends finally stopped teasing her. She will just wait for the right time when she can finally tell to her idiot friends that Jeric is now her boy friend.

 "I've heard that Carlos visited you last weekend, Kate. Why didn't he hang-out with us too?" Yesha asked. Kate's friends knew Carlos because the latter is their senior in the school and also because, he is Kate's best friend. 

"Yesha is right. We missed him. He's a nice senior and a friend too." Natalie said with a smile. 

Kate smiled back at her. "He didn't stay long after he visited me last time. He said he needs to go back to his dorm early because he has a lot of school works left to do. But it's okay, because at least, we hang-out together. And most of all, I already told him about Jeric."

 Yesha who's sitting next to her stopped sipping her drink. "Seriously? Did you really fell so deeply in love with Jeric that fast? You even told Carlos about him." 

Kate nodded her head excitedly. Her friends just looked at her worriedly. 

"Do you know that there's a rumor that he's still in love with his ex-girlfriend?" Natalie asked making Kate schocked but remain silent. "I hope he won't use you as a rebound, Kate." 

"Stop saying that, Natalie. Let just be happy that our baby Kate finally fell in love for the first time!" Yesha cheered while giving a toast using her soft drink cup. Kate and Natalie followed so they all shared a toast.

 Kate is happy that her friends are supporting her love for Jeric. She hopes that Jeric will really fall in love with her and will not use her as a rebound only.

 Carlos is currently inside a coffee shop. He's all alone in one table while scribbling some words on his notebook. His mind can't think of a proper word to write except the name Kate. He keeps on writing that name until he realized, he finished a whole notebook page already by just writing 'Kate' repeatedly.

 "Here's your order, sir. Enjoy your food."

 He heard a waitress spoke. He looked up then met the eyes of the pretty waitress who just served his ordered coffee. The waitress gave him a shy smile before bowing down then walked away. 

He sighed then take a sip of his black coffee. The coffee tasted bitter but he didn't mind adding sugar and cream on it. He thinks it doesn't matter if the coffee tasted bitter because the feeling inside his heart is more bitter. 

He can't help but remember his talk with Kate last time. She said that she missed him but she can't stop talking about that transferee named Jeric. 

"You look so happy talking about that guy, Kate. Did you even notice the painful look in my eyes while you can't stop telling about your feelings for him? Why are you so oblivious? Why can't you see that I'm always in love with you? Why can't you see that I will do everything just to make you happy?" Carlos talked to himself, still thinking about Kate. He chuckled bitterly. "I'm so in love with you that I'm willing to hurt myself just to see you happy. But can't I be selfish even just once? I want you to be mine, only mine, Kate. I love you so much."
