Akaashi had awoken earlier than usual that Saturday morning, the first hints of the sunrise slipping through the cracks in the curtains, dancing on his pale, olive skin.
He stretched, turning towards his phone and checking the time. '6:37'
And so he sat up, rubbing his eyes gently, then scanning the silent room. He could tell something was wrong before his eyes made it to the bed closest to the door, which was undisturbed and lay empty.
Akaashi panicked slightly when he realized that bed belonged to his senpai Bokuto, and he quickly changed into something warmer before leaving the room as quietly as possible.
He rushed through the hallways when he received a text from Suga, and he paused for a minute to read it and to breathe.
Suga ♡: Akaashi-san, what's going on? I just saw you run past our room, and you seemed worried?
Akaashi ♡: i can't find bokuto-san
And with that he took off once more, looking into every room, cheeks flushed from the chill in the air and the rushing of blood throughout his body.
Akaashi was so distracted that he didn't notice the tall figure in front of him and smacked into him headfirst, blushing a furious shade of crimson before backing up hurriedly to apologize.
When he looked into the eyes of his senpai, however, tears sprung to his eyes and he jumped into a hug, wrapping his arms around Bokuto's neck.
And he wept, telling Bokuto how worried he was, calming only as he felt gentle, calloused hands stroking his back, hugging him almost too tightly.
Akaashi was so incredibly grateful to find his senpai uninjured, as the energies surrounding him have been nothing but negative, that he didn't notice the several texts he received from Suga-san, he didn't notice the silver-haired setter hiding behind a corner wat hung the events before him unfold.
He cried and cried, and eventually he was able to pull away from Bokuto, who looked incredibly guilty and frightened that he made his kouhai cry, that he made him anything other than happy.
