The sheer amount of people coming to see Bokuto had him shocked. He hadn't expected anyone to care, not even Akaashi or Kuroo.

Yet here he was, holding hands with Akaashi in a hospital bed, Kuroo and Kenma sitting on the couch in the room, and everyone from Miyagi arriving shortly. He chatted quietly with Kuroo, not giving away details of why he was hospitalized, which Kuroo respected, thankfully enough.

He patted Akaashi's hair with his free hand, and asked him if he was doing okay. He looked a little surprised when Akaashi looked up at him with a watery smile, and demanded that he come into the hospital bed that instant and receive hugs. That Akaashi deserved hugs.

And so he was shocked when Akaashi complied instantly, and sighed a little when he felt the warmth next to him. Akaashi's head was on his chest, Bokuto's hand in his hair, and it was pleasant.

Bokuto could feel his own heartbeat going crazy but not Akaashi's, thought it most definitely was. They each were blushing, yet Kuroo held himself back from teasing the two.

Before long, Bokuto noticed that Akashi had fallen asleep, and nobody dared disturb him, but they talked quietly amongst themselves.

Sugawara, Hinata, Yamaguchi, Tsukishima, and Oikawa arrived around twenty minutes later, with all but Tsukishima crying, though he did appear worried.

Hinata managed to keep himself quiet as he sped to the chair closest to the bed, looking at Bokuto with immense amounts of worry.

Bokuto used his free hand and assured his kouhai that he would be fine, not to worry, and gave him head pats. Yamaguchi and Tsukishima sat on either side of Hinata, Yamaguchi rubbing his back and Tsukishima squeezing his shoulder lightly.

They all talked to Bokuto, with Suga and Oikawa worried beyond belief over both the bodies in the hospital bed.

Eventually a phone call came to Bokuto's phone, which woke Akaashi up, unfortunately.

Bokuto apologized to Akaashi before answering it, it was the police officer he had spoken to earlier.

His mother was in a domestic violence shelter, his siblings taken to their aunt's house.

But because of his age, Bokuto would have to find out where to live on his own.

Everyone in the room heard this, and Bokuto could feel tears well up in his eyes and his face turn red. He hadn't told anyone what happened, and apparently neither did Akaashi, because they all looked shocked at the officer's words.

After the phone call ended, Bokuto started crying. He knew everyone could see him. He knew and it made him feel even weaker. And so he cried harder.
