Bokuto couldn't watch, he couldn't make himself look at the disappointed look on Akaashi's face, the disgusting mutual between he and Sugawara.

He covered his eyes with his other arm, hating himself with every inch of his being, wanting to throw up and cry and hurt himself.

What he wasn't expecting was the gentle marker, the cold brush of Suga's fingertips, the little kisses on five different sigils.

He also wasn't expecting to hear quiet sniffles from Akaashi, he wasn't expecting Sugawara to leave the room.

He wasn't expecting Akaashi to kiss his chapped lips.

And yet, here he was, getting a kiss from the safest person he knew.

He didn't expect to get an invitation from Akaashi's mother to live in their home, with the promise to visit his siblings as much as possible.

He didn't expect to feel safe, to have a home, to have friends and a family, to have happiness.

He didn't expect to get to call Akaashi 'Keiji', or to hear Keiji calling him 'Koutaro' or 'Kou'.

He didn't expect to share a last name, to share their own home.

He didn't expect to live with the best thing that had ever happened by his side.

And yet, it all happened. Things he never thought he deserved.

It wasn't always easy, of course, when is anything ever easy?

But when he had his Keiji by his side, his friends and family, his adopted neices and nephews, his own adopted kids, he could do anything and everything.

And so it was anything and everything he tried to do.
