Bokuto felt so terrible for making Akaashi worry, he didn't realize that the second year cared this much about him to be this scared of what might happen to him. He looked at the red-eyed boy in front of him and apologized, attempting to convey his emotions without rambling.
And it was a beautiful irony that this time it was the senpai calming the kouhai, rather than the reverse.
Bokuto thought he had never seen something so gorgeous as the mixture of the red surrounding Akaashi's eyes and the deep ocean teal of his irises, before shoving those thoughts to the back of his mind, that's why he was punished after all.
And so Bokuto hardly noticed when he reached his hands out to wipe the tears from Akaashi's cheeks, he hardly noticed when his kouhai looked up into his eyes with flushed cheeks and a grateful gaze, he hardly noticed the warmth that gathered to his out cheeks.
They both agreed to head to the cafeteria rather than attempt to sleep longer, and they sat and talked for about 45 minutes until the coaches arrived and members from the three teams started to trickle in.
