Chapter 17 // concerned

I woke up in my bed, with a massive headache. I turned around and I was alone.

I stumbled out of bed to get a couple of pain killers. I heard some noise downstairs, I slowly walked. I went into the kitchen and saw Sam.

"Uh.. Hi." I awkwardly said.

"Morning." Sam said looking in the fridge.

"Where's Jack?" I looked around.

"I thought he was with you." He said slowly closing the fridge.

"No I woke up and he wasn't here."

"Um.. ther-"

"You know what, maybe he had to go home. I'm not gonna make a big deal about this." I shook my head.

I sat at the counter. And put my head down.

"You ok?" Sam asked.

"Yeah just a headache." I lied. Why would Jack leave? Did something happen yesterday?

I decided to call Matt. I haven't talked to him in a while.

It rang a couple of times and he finally picked up.

"Hello." He sounded tired.

"Hey Matt, did I wake you up?" i laughed.

"Yeah sort of."

"Sorry, do you want to hang out today?." I twirled my hair around my finger.

"Sounds fun. I can pick you up at... Um... 12 ?"

"Yeah. See you later."

"Bye Theresa." He yawned.

I hung up and ran to the restroom.

I quickly got dressed and waited for Matt.

I got a text.

M - I'm here

T - ok

I started walking out the door when Sam stopped me.

"Where you going?"

"Out with Matt." I looked down.

"Um.. Ok."

I walked outside and Matt was standing there.

"Hey." His face lit up.

"Hi." He embraced me in a hug.

"What do you feel like doing today?" He asked walking towards the car.

"Movies?"

"Sure. What movie?" He asked.

"Unfriended?" I smiled.

"What's that? Is it a girly movie or something?" He started the car.

"No it's suppose to be a scary movie."

We got to the movies and Matt wouldn't let me pay.

Matt made us sit in the back, idk why. During all the jump scares I hid in his chest and he just laughed at me.

"When his hand was in the blender... That was the best part." Matt said walking out of the theater with his arm around me.

"Noooo.. That was gross." I made a face.

"Well I liked it. Wanna go get some ice cream?" I nodded.

We walked into a ice cream shop. And waited in line.

"Wait so what happened at the party?"

I was on my phone.

"Huh."

"What happened at the party?" He sounded more serious for a reason.

"What do you want to know?"

"Was Jack there?" He ran his hand through his hair.

Oh crap.
