"I am so excited for tonight," Tori sqeals as we walk into her house.
"I know right? And you couldn't have timed it any better, there's been such a party drought that everyone is talking about your party like you're a saint. Even seniors!" I squeal right back. We walk into her kitchen and drop the load of bags we were carrying.
"Looks like we've got everything except alcohol, and Ian promised to bring me some," Tori comments.
"You're going to have alcohol here?" I ask, a little worried. I had never drank before, and honestly I didn't really want to.
"Duh. What kind of party would this be if I didn't? Don't worry, little goody goody, you don't have to drink if you don't want to. Everyone knows you're my lame best friend anyways," she laughs. I let out a small laugh, although inside I'm seething. Despite any truth there was to that sentence, she knows stuff like that pissed me off. She knew I was still sensitive about all of that after middle school. We both grab bowls and start setting out all of the snacks we had gotten for tonight.
"So guess what," Tori says after a while.
"What?" I ask, not in the mood to actually guess.
"I think I'm going to lose my virinity to Luke tonight," she announces, causing me to drop the stack of solo cups that I was holding.
"Seriously? You guys have only been dating for a week, and you're going to be drunk. Don't you want to wait for a better time, when you know him a little better?" I try to reason with her.
"God, can't you ever just be happy for me? Just because you're still single doesn't mean you constantly have to shit on my relationship! Remember, honey, I'm the popular one, not you. If you want to be popular, you're going to have to be a little less prudish. Just because your physical makeover worked, doesn't mean you're done. You need a serious attitude makeover too. I mean honestly, you're worse than Maddy, and she's in 6th grade," Tori instantly blew up on me. I held back my retort, despite being compared to Tori's younger sister. Tori was my key to the in-crowd, and I couldn't throw that away.
"Fine, yeah, you're right. Just be careful, don't get pregnant or anything," I mumble, and Tori smiles.
Oh, Blaire, honey. Luke is a junior, he's smart enough to wear a condom," Tori smiles in response. I decide to just shrug it off, it's Tori's choice, not mine. The doorbell rings and Tori runs to answer it, saying something about Ian being there. But the doorbell kept ringing...and ringing...and ringing.
''Blaire! You're going to be late," my mom yells above my ringing alarm. I open my eyes, look at the time, and leap out of bed.
"Shit shit shit," I mumble as I hurry to get ready in the fifteen minutes I had left. Luckily, I had taken a shower and dried my hair the night before, so all I had to worry about was my makeup and getting dressed. I managed to get everything done and dart outside to my mom's car right on time.
"You're cutting it a bit close," my mom comments with a laugh.
"I know, I know. So when do I get my own car?" I ask hopefully.
"Well, you know, I did just get a raise and all, so after school today?" she suggests. I squeal and lean to over to hug her.
"Thank you thank you thank you," I screech, and she laughs.
"Okay, calm down before you make me crash. I should be home at 5, we can go then."
By the time my mom dropped me off, I had entirely forgotten about the weird dream/memory thing I had had last night. The instant I saw Callie, I ran over to her and grabbed her arm.
