"What do you want, bastard?" I say a snarl forming on my lips.
"I wanted to apologize, for earlier," he says with blue eyes staring at me intently.
    "Why?" I ask utterly confused.
"You did my work for me, and I assumed you were a naive newbie," he says chuckling.
"Well you've apologized, now you can take your leave," I say turning for the door. Suddenly, he reaches and grabs my arm. I react reflexively and throw my weight forward and pull him over my shoulder. He grunts in pain as he lands on the stairs.
"I didn't mean to startle you," he says gathering himself up.
    "What do you want?"
"Your leader said that I could take what I want from you, as repayment," I roll my eyes at this statement. He was in for it if he touched me again. I growled at his outstretched hand.
"All I ask is for a night with you," he says.
"I thought you figured out I wasn't a prostitute," I spit at his feet. His eyes widen in shock at his own mistake. He says something to himself before repeating.
"No, no, I would like to introduce you to some people," he says rubbing his neck.
"What?" I ask, but he's already turning away.
"I'll come for you at 7:00 Saturaday," he says, already halfway gone. I shake my head, and turn away.
"No," I yell after him. He doesn't react as he turns around the corner. Then I turn and pull myself up the stairs and slide inside. There Artemis stands her grandaughter beside her.
"I thought you would be more beat up," Artemis says looking me up and down.
"So did I," I say in response.
"What did he have to say?" she asks.
"He apologized," I say spitting the words.
"And why was I not informed of your little encounter with him," Artemis says furious.
"I didn't believe he would come looking for me in any way, it was a mix up over a job," I say still annoyed.
"Well, which job was it?" she asks almost as angrily as I spit my response.
"Malakin,"
She just nods, and I take my leave Kyla trailing behind me. I rush down the stairs before running back to my room. Kyla follows me, and as we arrive Rileigh jumps out of her bed.
"What took you so long?" she says to me before smiling at Kyla.
"There was a little mix up," I say avoiding specifics.
"And now we get to do my hair," Kyla says tugging at her blonde locks. At that Rileigh grins. She rushes over to our dresser and tugs open a drawer. Inside lay hair dye, among other things I had brought back for her.
"What color are you thinking?" Rileigh asks playing at a professional.
"Something that will shock my grandmother," she replies and I watch as Rileigh grabs a variety of colors.
Then she lays them out on her bed, and Kyla makes her way over. The colors would shock her grandmother for sure. Finally Kyla grabs two boxes. One a black and the other a bright teal. "How about these, but like we layer them alternating to add an interesting affect," She asks Rileigh. I glance to my young roommate, and she nods. Then we both look back grinning, and lead Kyla into the bathroom. Shutting the door behind us.

Needless to say her grandmother was shocked.

Sorry for the short chapter! I was kind of busy and this one is kind of a filler. The next chapter will probably be a while. Until we meet again...
