Anielle POV
I stare at the figure. Glaring at the familiar voice, stature, and red feathers.
"Keigo, I suggest you go," I whisper, pushing myself up and towards the door.
"Not so fast," He responds, grabbing my wrist. I grab his arm in an attempt to throw him off, but nothing shifts. He's a steadfast point, in the constant changing area around me. "Please, just go," He pleads.
"You and I both know I'm not doing that," I shove forward, and he takes the chance to kick my knees, and against my will I collapse. The harsh bite of the floor stings my palms, but I say nothing. Instead, tugging my feet back under me, before another blow lands on my side. The air in my lungs escapes, and I clutch my chest.
Keigo strides forwards, and kneels in front of me. He's close enough that his hood no longer shadows his face.
It's terrifying, in that moment, how similar he appears to my own father. A fresh wound drags across his cheek bone, drawing under his jaw and neck. His gaze is cold, and the slight smell of alcohol clings to his clothes. Though it is old, and musty.
"I know I can't stop you, but I've got to rough you up a little so that I can say you escaped," He murmurs, frowning.
I take the closeness to my advantage and smirk. Throwing my weight back onto my arms, throwing my legs up, and landing both feet against his chest. Kicking him away, I rush towards the door. Unsteady on my feet, and tripping over my movements, I fall into the hall.
I hear him behind me, trudging forwards and crawl myself up into a standing position before sprinting in the direction I knew was proper.
The building was quiet, my footsteps were silent thankfully, with the rain and light impact I left with the floor. I hurry along, slipping into shadows, and straying from rooms that voices echoed through.
The storm had sent many more of the workers home than we had estimated. I felt an uneasy churning in my gut anyways.
There were more doors as I neared the room I was headed for, and keeping track became a struggle. I managed, ticking off each in time with my footsteps.
Twenty-seven.
It was wrong, the lack of people. The amount of trust put in cameras, until I heard the beating of footsteps behind me. Two pairs, just off time, most likely men from the weight of their steps. Coming from the same direction Keigo had been, so there was a chance one was him. Though, there was a chance he was flying beside them.
I threw my weight into the door, when it just bent, I let a small amount of water gather at my palm. A mixture of sweat, and blood, dripped around my skin. Pressing my hand to the lock, and device connected to it, I let the temperature drop, and breathed as the door clicked and whirred. I knew it was unlocked, yet trying the handle felt wrong.
Instead of hesitating as steps neared, I pushed down and fell into the room.
There were two figures standing there, and one crumpled in the chair. My stomach dropped at the fastened cuffs on his wrists, and I almost gagged at the nails swallowed by blood along his forearm.
"Oh, and you are?" The dark green haired man asks, looking directly at me.
"You." Endeavor spits at the same time.
"You know this one?" The first questions.
I glance to Touya, and see him struggle to turn. He can't see me, I realize.
"Yes, I know her Midoriya." Endeavor seethes, starting forward.
"Oh is she, her?" The man, Midoriya asks, looking intently at me. He looked hungry, and as his gaze roved over my figure, it felt wrong.
"Yes." Endeavor clips out, walking towards me. I swallow, moving away from the door, and against the wall of the room. Out of the corner of my eye I see Touya struggle in his seat. "So, you're really intent on doing everything you can against me, girl." Endeavor continues. "If I may ask, what'd I do to you?"
Inhaling, as I side step away from him I answer. "You didn't do much to me directly, I've got a bigger problem with the heroes themselves," I sigh, grateful for the mask covering half of my face. Though it pains me to see the way Touya tenses in his seat, before whipping his head to stare at me.
"Oh, so she speaks," Midoriya smiles, starting towards me.
"Be careful, she may be quirkless, but she's still strong." Endeavor warns. I jump backwards, so that I'm directly in Touya's line of sight, and he raises a brow. I just shrug slightly.
"Quirkless huh? That's simple enough," Midoriya smirks, setting a small syringe down.
"Wait-" Endeavor starts, but the man had already removed his gloves and loosed a breath. I flinch at the raise in temperature, and watch as a small line of flames settles into his hands. "We can't kill her, she needs to be questioned." Endeavor catches the man's shoulder.
"Ok," Midoriya sighs jutting his lip out, before smiling viciously. "As long as she doesn't die, we're fine," Endeavor frowns at his response, but let's his hands light as well.
"Go," Touya struggles to say, his voice torn and sore.
"No." I answer.
"Lovers?" Midoriya chuckles. "Who'd have thought,"
"Get out of here," Touya continues.
"I'm not leaving you behind," I respond.
"How sweet," Midoriya croons. "Too bad it's been wasted."
He lets the flames he'd gathered fall to the floor, and they ignite on the tiles, gathering in lines.
"Gasoline," Touya mutters, staring at me. I nod, and reach for the bottle of water clipped to my side.
Pouring it out on the ground, I shift the water change to a vapor. Dancing away from the flames, and standing on the tips of my shoes I rush towards Touya. The two heroes don't move from the door, but let the flames continue to spread. As the temperature steadily rises, I focus on the cool air and let it become liquid over the locks on his wrists.
Then I freeze the gears, and they click. I nimbly let the water become vapor again, my quirk working almost of it's own accord as it settled over the wounds on his arms, numbing them.
Touya pulls out the nails without hesitation.
"New party trick?" He asks, struggling to stand. He gets to his feet, but slumps against me. I brace for the weight, but lose the advantage of speed, and quick reactions.
"I think you've had enough time," Endeavor says, and starts towards us.
"I think you talk a lot," I throw back, and let the water gather with a small amount of blood dripping down Touya's arm.
