GLADIOLUS / SWORD LILY
strength, integrity, faithfulness

Walking along a path on the grounds of Hogwarts, three Gryffindors, one Hufflepuff, and one Gamekeeper, discussing the jinx placed on Harry's broom during the Slytherin–Gryffindor quidditch match.

"Nonsense!" Hagrid exclaims at the group's belief that the Potions Master jinxed Harry's broom, "Why would Snape put a curse on Harry's broom?"

Harry shrugs, but continues with conviction, "Who knows? Why was he trying to get past that three-headed dog on Halloween?"
Adelaide is quick to correct, "Cerberus. Why was he trying to get past Cerberus on Halloween?"

"Cerberus?" Hagrid questions in confusion, before his gaze turns to the Potter boy with suspicion, "You can't mean Fluffy! Who told you 'bout Fluffy?

Ron turns to the giant man incredulously, "Fluffy?"

"That thing has a name that isn't Cerberus?" Hermione questions the Gamekeeper, before shaking her head and remarking, "Andy will be rather disappointed to hear that."

Hagrid raises an eyebrow in confusion, before shaking his head and stating, "Well, his name's Fluffy, and I bought him off an Irish feller I met down at the pub last year. Then I lent him to Dumbledore to guard the—"

"Yes?" Harry prompts when Hagrid cuts himself off.

"I shouldn't have said that," Hagrid mumbles to himself, exclaiming after a second to regather himself, "Don't ask any more questions. That's top-secret, that is. Where is Andy, anyway?"

"She's with Professor Flitwick," Hermione informs the man. He turns to look at her as though imploring her to tell him why, and the brunette Granger expands, "He's helping her place a charm on two journals so that we can remain in contact in our separate dormitories."

"Hagrid," Adelaide starts softly, turning the topic back to the 'top secret' concerning Fluffy, "we think whatever it is that Fluffy is guarding—Snape is trying to steal it."

"Codswallop. Professor Snape is a Hogwarts teacher," Hagrid waves off immediately.

"Hogwarts teacher or not, I know a curse when I see one," Hermione reasons, the basis of her theory correct, but the results incorrect, "I've read all about them. You have to keep eye contact. And Snape wasn't blinking."

"Now, you listen to me, all four of you," Hagrid interjects assertively, "You're meddlin' in things that ought not to be meddled in. It's dangerous. What that dog is guarding is strictly between Professor Dumbledore and Nicolas Flamel."
