The soles of my beat up Doc Martins thud against the asphalt as I continue running.
"Catch me if you can loser!" I laugh as I pick up more speed.
"Hey! No fair! You got a head start!" Dexter laughs back at me, following suit.
When we reached the hill after the branch off I quickly tuck into a somersault and roll down the grass to the bottom of the hill, Dexter following close behind me.
We both laid there in a heap of laughter as we collect ourselves after the little race.
"You're such a dork." He snorts with a shove to my shoulder as we sat up.
I smiled up at him, "But you love me anyways."
He rolled his eyes and wrapped his arm around my shoulder, "Yes I do, you twerp."
I hummed and rested my head on his shoulder.
"Dex?"
"Hm?"
"You're in the hero course right?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Do you think I'll get into the hero course?"
His chest rumbled with a chuckle, "Of course you will, Kayama already assured you that she and Yamada put in their recommendations for you to get in."
"But what about the entrance exam, I don't have a physical quirk that will help me." I pouted.
He gave my shoulder a gentle squeeze, "But you can get rescue points, and I know you're good at gymnastics so I'm sure you'll do perfectly fine."
I smiled gently and relaxed into him again.
He checked the time on his phone a little while later and kissed the side of my head. "Time to head back, it's almost dinner time."
I pouted and leaned into him. "But it's so nice out." I whined.
He chuckled and stood up before hoisting me onto his back. "I know, but food is important. And before you say anything, you need to eat, you're getting thin again."
I layer my head on his shoulder as he started walking back to the house.
"Dex, what if the kids at UA are like the kids from-"
He cuts me off, "Then you send them to me and I'll take care of them."
I smiled and nodded.
We got home rather quickly and helped Mom set up for dinner.
We all sat down and ate, putting Dad's in the fridge for when he gets home, if he gets home tonight.
I washed the dishes while Dexter cleaned up the table.
"Thank you guys, I appreciate you helping out." Mom cooed when she finished up boxing the left overs.
Dexter smiled at her. "It's the least we can do to help out."
Mom gave us each a kiss on the cheek before turning in for the night.
I finished up washing the dishes and dried my hands before turning to Dexter.
"Dex?"
"Yeah Saph?"
"Will you forget about me when you graduate and become a hero?"
He turned to me, his face showing concern and a hint of sadness. "Why would I forget about you?"
"Because you'll be famous and I'll still just be your little sister."
He frowned and grabs my hands, "Saph I'm not gonna forget about you. I'm gonna be right by your side all the way, I promise."
I smiled softly. "Pinky?"
He chuckled and wrapped his pinky around mine. "Pinky promise."
We both smiled and shared a tight hug before turning in for the night.
