The sun peered through the window and blasted me in the face, unwelcomingly telling me that it's now morning.
I slowly lifted myself upright and saw that Tamaki and Dexter were awake, scrolling on their phones. Tamaki and I's legs still tangled.
"Morning sleepy head, we decided to let you sleep in a bit since you haven't been getting much sleep as of late." Dexter hummed.
I smiled and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. Checking the time I saw it was 10:30, which isn't too bad, at least I got some sleep.
Tamaki groaned when his phone rang, he slowly answered. "Y-Yes mom? I-I texted y-you'll I'll be h-home before n-noon. Y-Yes I kn-know it's 10:30. Y-Yes mom. Tell h-him I'll be home b-before noon. I-I'm at Kn-Knight's house. Y-Yes the k-kind boy w-with dark indigo h-hair. Th-The one with the a-art Quirk. Y-Yes I ate d-dinner. R-Ramen. O-Okay mom, I'll s-see you l-later."
He hung up and groaned. "Sh-She worries t-too much."
I untangled our legs and got up. "Coffee before you go?"
"Yes p-please."
I nodded and made a pot of coffee. Once it was ready I poured us all a cup, just the way we all like it.
We drank our coffee in silence before Tamaki had to go.
"So are you meeting that Bakugo kid today?"
I quickly sat up. "Oh shit, yeah, I need to get dressed."
Dexter chuckled. "What's with the rush? You like him or something?"
I fake gagged. "Ew, I'd rather deep throat a chainsaw. I just look like a rat and would rather not go into public like this."
"Fair enough, I need a shower anyways. Head out bout 12:30?"
I nodded and we each went to our rooms.
I changed into a pair of black acid washed jeans and a Queen hoodie with my Doc Martin's. I pulled my hair into a ponytail, leaving my bangs out, and applied some light lip gloss.
I jogged down stairs and waited for Dexter.
He came down a few minutes later wearing gray distressed jeans and a black tank top with his Vans.
We made our way to the park, cracking jokes along the way about people we saw along the street.
Once we made it to the park I could instantly spot Bakugo sitting by the fountain, eating ramen.
"Hey boom boom bitch." I greeted as we walked up to him.
He looked up from his food and almost looked shocked. "You came? Huh, didn't think you'd show up Psycho."
Dexter grabbed my hand and tightly squeezed, clearly trying to remain calm.
"Who's this, your boyfriend?" Bakugo laughed.
"Brother, not boyfriend. What did you want me here for anyways?"
"I wanted to talk. I've seen you around in class but rarely hear you speak. And when you decide to talk to me it's to stand up for Midoriya. Why?"
"I don't talk because people don't like me. I stood up for Midoriya because he's had to put up with enough of your shit already."
"People don't like you?"
"Are you deaf or just stupid? I get shit hurled at me daily because of my Quirk. You think you're the first person to call me a psycho? I get that crap on the daily. They think that I'm a villain just because of my Quirk."
"What even is your Quirk exactly? You never show it."
"It's called Psychosis. By making eye contact with someone I can implant any emotion or sensation into their brain as long as I've felt it before. The more often I feel it the easier it is to implant and to make stronger."
"Use it on me."
Dexter nearly choked on his breath next to me. "What?! Is this just a ploy to get dirt on Sapphire to hurt her!" He growled.
"Chill dude, I just wanna see how it works. I won't use it against her."
I sighed softly and made eye contact with Bakugo, cycling through my usual feelings before choosing one.
Dexter watched stiffly as Bakugo almost doubled over, covering his ears and flinching every now and then.
I deactivated my Quirk and helped him sit up straight.
"Wh-What the hell was that?"
"Auditory hallucinations. Though yours was a phantom version. I get them whenever I have a panic attack."
"Holy shit."
I nodded and sat on the bench, pulling Dexter to sit next to me.
"So how do you manage with that shit in your head?" Bakugo sounded concerned?
"Are you genuinely concerned?" I held disbelief in my voice.
He nodded. "You seem like a good person, but you clearly have a lot of demons."
I nodded and fixed my sleeves, making sure to keep my scars covered. "Yeah, I guess after a while you grow numb to all of it. You get used to certain things when you experience them enough. But Dex is always there go help me when I need it."
Dexter smiled and wrapped an arm around my shoulders, pressing a kiss to the crown of my head. "Because I love you Saph, you're my baby sister and I'll do everything I can to protect you."
I smiled and leaned into him.
Bakugo chuckled at us. "You two have a close relationship I see."
I nodded.
Bakugo flinched slightly when his phone started blaring. He picked it up and kept an unusually gentle tone.
"Yes mother, I'll be back in half an hour. Yes I'm walking. I have lunch for you. Yes mother. Okay." He hung up and sighed, "I have to get going, my mother is upset. Here's my number, if you need anything just text me. See ya." He handed me a piece of paper and walked away.
Dexter held me close. "He hurts you and I skin him alive."
I giggled and hugged his waist. "Okay brother bear."
We made our way back home, picking up some sweets on the way, and chilled for the rest of the day.
