Chapter 6

A few days after the festival

"Today you're picking hero names. Be smart about this or you'll be stuck with a mediocre name from now on." Aizawa explained.

Everyone went up and voiced their choices, Katsuki's being understandably terrible.

"Knight, you're up."

I stood behind the podium and turned my board around.

"The mental hero: Psyche."

Kayama beamed. "Like the Greek mythology! I love it!"

I smiled and sat back down.

"You all need to turn in your choices by the weekend. You're dismissed." Aizawa announced before walking out.

I put my stuff in my bag and walked out to the courtyard.

I looked over my offers and furrowed my brows in confusion at the amount I had.

I felt someone sit next to me and peek at the papers in my hands.

"You're surprised you got that many offers?" Tokoyami asked.

I nodded and leaned against the tree behind me. "It's just odd, why would so many pros want me."

"Because you're insanely good at what you do. You have almost perfect control over your Quirk and you fight even better."

I smiled. "Thanks, Tokoyami. So who did you pick?"

"Hawks."

I snorted and tried my best to contain my laughter.

"Yes, I know. I went for the bird." He chuckled. "But I believe he can help me contain Dark Shadow. Did he give you an offer?"

I looked at my papers and smiled, seeing he did. "Yeah, he did. Think I should go for it?"

"If that's what you want. I'm sure you could even teach him a few things about hand to hand combat."

I smiled and nodded. "Thanks, Tokoyami."

He smiled and relaxed. "No problem, Knight. Would you like to walk home together?"

I nodded and smiled. "I'd like that."

We stood up and walked out the gates together, making small talk here and there about classwork and such.

"So Knight, you and Bakugo seem close."

I nodded. "Yeah, Katsu is my best friend."

"How did you two meet?"

"We went to junior high together, he was like the biggest bully in our class. One day he said something to Midoriya and I stood up to him about it. We talked a few times and grew closer. When he found out about the kids who picked on me he was really over protective."

Tokoyami nodded. "Why did the kids pick on you? You're such a wonderful person."

"They made fun of me because of my Quirk. They constantly called me villainous and evil for my Quirk."

"That's horrible. You Quirk is so powerful, you're bound to be an amazing hero."

I smiled at that. "Thank you, but you'll be an even better one."

"That's if I can control Dark Shadow."

"Maybe instead of trying to take control of him, you should try working with him. If you establish a symbiotic relationship it might be easier than trying to squander a parasitic relationship."
