Walking into homeroom, I could feel my heart clench and my stomach twist as I saw Tamaki, Mirio, and Nejire standing in front of Aizawa's desk with Kayama.

"Everyone take your seats, please. Miss Knight, come here please." Kayama instructed.

I nodded and walked over as everyone sat down.

Aizawa looked at me, visibly concerned. "Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked quietly.

I nodded and fiddled with my sleeves.

He sighed softly before standing up as I stood next to Kayama and Tamaki.

"Alright, everyone. As you all more than likely realized, Miss Knight wasn't present for about a week."

The class nodded and looked confused.

"Well, there is a reason to this of course. Such a diligent student wouldn't just ditch, as you all know. Miss Knight was home, handling a very serious situation."

He looked at me and took a deep breath before continuing.

"On Thursday night, the week before last, Sapphire's brother Dexter took his own life."

Tamaki, Mirio, and Nejire froze. Kayama hung her head.

Most of the class gasped and looked at me worriedly.

Tears slipped from my eyes as I hung my head.

"She's been at home mourning the loss of her brother for a week." Aizawa finished.

Katsuki shot up from his seat and looked at me. "Saph why didn't you tell me?" He asked gently.

I sniffled. "I o-only told Midnight and Aizawa b-because they found me walking late one night..."

Tamaki noticed my tears and hugged me tightly.

"When is the funeral?" Kirishima asked.

"Friday at noon. Nezu agreed to give all the students a day off, so those who wish to attend Dexter's funeral can. Mr and Mrs Knight will be returning tomorrow morning for the funeral." Kayama explained.

"Wh-What?! Th-They're coming home?!" I panicked.

"Yes they are, though they only know that it's an emergency, not that it's for the funeral of their son."

The tears continued to slip from my eyes.

I bolted out the door as soon as the bell rang. I could hear footsteps following me, but I didn't stop.

I ran all the way home, the footsteps still following me.

I ran into the house and all the way up to my room, crumpling to me knees on the carpet.

Tears were streaming down my face as I felt a pair of arms wrap around me.

I turned and buried my face in their shoulder as I sobbed.

"Hey, hey, shh, it's okay." Katsuki soothed as he rubbed my back.

I ended up falling asleep in his arms after a while.

Next morning

I winced as the front door slammed.

"Sapphire Diana Knight, this better be fucking worth the goddamn airfare!" My father barked as he walked over with my mother.

Aizawa walked back from the kitchen, handing me my coffee, and stood behind me where I was sitting on the couch.

"In fact, Mr and Mrs Knight, this is important. That's why we informed you that it was an emergency."
