Sach was very excited
He was just jumping from one foot to another
He was way too happy......And it couldn't be explained in words
And why wouldn't he be......his one of the oldest friends was joining the team
He was relieved. He will have him....these seniors are too much to bear!!!! And knowing his friend he was sure that he is the right person to stand against the seniors and yet be the best in the team
And he was all prepared with a list of do-s that he would do with his friend
Dey were very close even before when they were in the junior camps and now again they will be together
However as Sourav entered Sach's face formed a frown,
Sourav was standing with another lean, thin kid linking hands together......the kid looked completely lost and Sach didn't know why was Sourav holding onto him that way....
However he went with a grin on his face and as Sourav saw him his smile was too large...
Sourav: Sachin.....how are u??? I saw all your matches...they were tooo goooddd.....very gooooddd....
And Sach was just staring at the other boy.....who was just looking nervously at him
Sourav: This is Dravid...Rahul Dravid...he is also into the team with me.....I met him in bangalore....for 1st class matches
And before Sachin could reply, Azhar: Sourav?? Rahul??
S & R: Yes sir.....
And they were given their allotted room
Sach: Azhar Bhai, main aur Sourav saath mein reh sakte hai na??
Sourav: Arre noo...Sachin its ok...I will stay with Rahul
And he pulled Rahul with him to their room...telling Sach he would meet him at dinner
As Sach stood and glared at their backs...thinking, "Huh!! what a friend...couldn't even hug me.....and stood linking his hand as if they are long lost friends.....(mimicking sourav)..noo its ok..I will stay with Rahul"....And was frowning pretty bad and continued his grumbling.
Sourav after dinner: Sachin...how are your parents??
And seeing Sourav concerned, Sachin's mood got lifted
Sach: They are good..
And as they talked about their families, chatting about what all had changed since Sourav last played...or Sach in a 1st class game...
Dada noticed Rahul standing at a corner
Sourav: Arre come Rahul.....why are you standing there??
and Sach's mood got spoiled just in a flick of moment
Rahul(in a soft voice): Woh actually..you talk...I will come later...(he was scared of Sach....upar se he was giving him looks)
Sourav: Arre its ok.....you need something kyaaa??
Rahul: Woh I wanted to know when will you come to sleep??
Sourav: Accha chalo lets go to sleep(getting up)...Sach meet you at the practice
And Sach sat there plotting how to tie up Dada with him...and just keep him to himself
On the way Dada saw Sanjay coming.....And Sourav just moved between Rahul and him....and Sanjay just left with a snide look without saying anything...cause he knows Sourav too well. Sourav's look was enough for Sanjay to know he won't mind breaking his head
As they entered the room,
Sourav: You don't worry...koi kuch bole..toh don't mind...they all are idiots.....And if you feel uncomfortable...you can tell me...Or sachin...he's my closest friend....We are very very veryyyy close
And Rahul just nodded his head
He had heard tales of players being bullied but today all day long...Sourav was with him..and as any senior came near them, seeing Sourav they went away.......
And he could understand it had something to do with Sourav...but how and why...he still has time to know....
Next day the practice session was on.....and Ganguly had took his place beside Dravid.....and also had dragged Sach with him
And this continued for quite a few days...Sach planning to practice with Sourav but Sourav getting Rahul to tag alone.....much to Sach's chagrin
During dinner,
Sach(in his mind): They know each others favorite food also...he doesn't know mine
Sach: Sourav chal na...ice cream khane chalte hai......
Rahul(mildly): No Sourav you shouldn't.......you were having a headache yesterday, you will catch a cold....It might increase
Sourav: Yaa Sachin...aaj rehne dete hai.....I guess he's right....I was having a headache
Sach: Why didn't you tell me...you should have visited the physio...
Rahul: Don't worry. I had medicine, I gave him.....he was fine after that
And Sourav just smiled at how Rahul had pressed his head and gave him meds.
And that turned Sach's worry to jealousy....
Next day a certain Dravid went to practice wearing a 3 quarters trousers....
And all burst out laughing as Rahul look embarrassed
Sourav(looking scandalized): Why are you wearing this???
Rahul(in a panic mode): I donno my pants are not there...only this was kept on the bed. Don't kno kiska hai....but when I wore it...its this short...I cant find my pants...my suitcase is missing...(looking scared as well as miserable)
But as they all reached Rahul's room his pants and suitcase were present in their proper place
Coach: What is this Rahul???
Rahul: Sir...woh...sir....it wasn't there...(confusedly)
Sourav thinking its again the senior's prank turned to look at them...but they all were also confused.
And Rahul was punished on disciplinary grounds........he had to do 50 burpees after the practice and it was pretty difficult in the sun
And Sourav was pretty tensed...but Rahul being the disciplined kid...did everything with dedication...and Sourav volunteered to watch him instead of going back to the hotel
As Rahul was done Sourav gave him some energy drink.......And he just leaned on him...as they went back
A certain soul saw Rahul limping and he did feel very bad...terribly bad
The entire n8 Sourav tendedto Rahul's feet and as the next day was off....Sourav was more relieved that Rahulwill get some rest.
So what happened to Rahul's trousers? Who took them away?
Will Rahul have to face more misery?
