"Yay! Nicole, you did it!" The nurse said.
"Yeah, I did, didn't I?" I said after her. I had been practicing my walking and I was finally able to walk on my own. No wheelchair included. "I can't wait to do 'leg-stuff' with my best friends."
"And that's awesome!" She said. "You've worked hard, you deserve it!"
"Thank you very much, Marie." I said.
I'd been thinking about what Amira said to me that other day. What she said about Veronica. After that little discussion we had she didn't even want to be around Veronica, she said she didn't trust her. Whenever I'd be with her and Veronica came around, she'd give a lame excuse and leave. And I wasn't happy about that, I didn't want to lose any of my friends or even have them fight with each other. I knew Amira was just being paranoid, just like she always was.
Apart from the whole Amira and Veronica thing, there was also that book. I needed to show it to them, but I didn't know how I was going to get Amira to agree to tag along, especially since Veronica was also involved. I had high hopes Veronica didn't have any problems with Amira too, because if she did, then I wouldn't know how I was going to pull it off.
If I ever had my best friends fight before my amnesia, I feel like that's a memory I'd rather not relive. But there was no turning back. I had to find a way to get my friends back together.
Apparently, Amira and I always had math class together and I figured I'd use that opportunity to persuade her.

I was sitting beside Amira in math class and she was rambling about how she's upset she got an A- for her math homework. Or something like that. I was not really listening because I was trying to figure out how I'd convince her to come over to my house. There was a huge chunk of me considering the option of lying to her about whether or not Veronica was going come too.
"Uh-Amira?" I finally mustered up the courage to say.
"Yeah, what's up?" She blurted out in the middle of what she had been saying. "Were you even listening to me?"
"No, I'm sorry, I was just thinking about something that's been bothering me." I said.
"What's that?" She asked worriedly. "Why haven't you told me?"
"Well, that's what I want to do now!" I whined.
"Then out with it already."
"There's this spell book I found at my grandma's house." I started. "She said it's real and we had tried a couple of them before I lost my memory."
"Okay..."
"I noticed a lot of disturbing images, disturbing things in a whole, in that book." I continued. "And I've been wanting to show it to you. And Veronica. Together."
"I don't want to be around that girl." She deadpanned.
"But I really want you to-"
"Let me finish." She said giggling. "But it seems like you really want us to see this book. And you did say it's been bothering you. So I guess I could put up with Veronica for a little while."
"Thank you so much, Amira." I said. Amira was always so sensitive. "I really wish you guys would get along again just like you used to. So it'll be the three of us together again."
"I'm sorry, Nicole." Amira said. "But that's easier said than done. Because I don't trust Veronica."
"And I get that." I said with a sigh. "What were you saying before anyways?"
