Emmaline had no idea why she decided to lie on her resume, especially when applying for a job with the renowned detective, Sherlock Holmes. She wasn't sure what she expected would happen. One look at her and he knew she wasn't who she claimed to be. He should've thrown her out on her lying ass, but instead, he gave her a chance.
As it turns out, Emmaline is just what he needed. Her quick wit and sharp tongue never fail to take him down a peg, and her charm is unparalleled. It wasn't long before she'd made herself indispensable to him. While Emmaline knew all there was to know about the famous detective, she found that she only knew half of the man. She knew the detective, not the man himself.
This all changes when Sherlock Holmes' past comes back to bite him. Not only one sibling but two he'd hidden from her. A missing mother, a sister on the run, and an overbearing elder brother who wouldn't give Sherlock a break. Emmaline finds that while Sherlock can solve any puzzle in front of him, he is entirely inept when it comes to affairs of the heart. Together they must track down Enola Holmes before anything terrible befalls her. And if Emmaline has anything to do with it, convince Sherlock to open his heart to the little sister he left behind.
