"Wonka vision: my latest and greatest invention!"
"It's television," interrupted Mike as he zipped up his white suit and put the hood over his head.
"Uh, no... It's Wonka vision."
Charlie gaped as he entered the television room. First thing he noticed, was that it was completely white. Everything. The only little bit of colour was the orange on their suits and and the black television in the corner of the room. Not only was it just white, it was the purest white Charlie had ever seen.
The room was a circular shape and rather large, but not as big as the other rooms he had visited. There was a camera like machine in the center of the room and it looked down towards a large platform beneath. There were a few keypad like inventions full of buttons and leavers. Charlie assumed this would turn the machine on. What did it do anyways? What did television have to do with chocolate?
"Now I suppose you all know how ordinary television works. You photograph something and-"
"Sure, I do. You photograph something, and then the photograph is split up into millions of tiny pieces, and they go whizzing through the air down to your TV set where they're all put together again in the right order."
Wonka stared down to the loud little boy Mike. His smile had vanished and was replaced with a blank stare. He didn't seem angry or anything he just seemed... Dazed. "You should open your mouth a little more wider when you speak," he finally said. "So I said to myself, 'If they can do it with a
photograph, why can't I do it with a bar of chocolate?'"
Suddenly two pairs of Oompa Loompa's in the same silly outfits as them popped in. That wasn't the most amazing thing, though. What was amazing was the collosal chocolate bar enough to feed an entire family. God, that would be just enough to feed his family, Charlie thought. The small orange men walked over to the platform and placed the giant candy bar on it, gently. Charlie watched as his mouth started to water. He swallowed it down, trying to keep his starvation at bay.
"I shall now send this chocolate bar from one end of the room to the other. It has to be big because whenever you transmit something by television, it always ends up smaller on the other end." Wonka placed his goggled on his head and instructed the others to do the same. He yelled out, "lights... Camera... Action!" Before a dazzling white flash covered Charlie's vision. His eyesight failed for a second after the flash, but once Wonka allowed them to take it off he saw an empty platform.
"Where's the chocolate?" Joe asked, astounded.
"Flying over our heads in a million pieces!" Wonka pointed upwards to the ceiling, though there was nothing to be seen there other than white paint.
"Where?" Mike retorted rudely. "I don't see a thing!"
Wonka guided them to the TV set at the end of the room. "Look... It will be there any second."
"What will?"
Mrs Teavee interrupted Charlie's question. "You really think the chocolate with appear in there?"
"That's now how it works!" Corrected Mike.
When Charlie looked away from the bickering three, he saw something beginning to fade into view. He called out to Wonka and he smiled in response. The more able Charlie was able to see of it, the more clearer of what it was. A Wonka bar, he thought.
