To the eye, I'm your average rich teenager. The type that are tall, have gorgeously long hair, the most fascinating eyes and look like they are always heading to an important dinner, and to some people that's all I ever will be. The looks are a disguise though, to make people think that we are exactly what they want to be although we're not, which is why I never like to judge personality on appearance. I'm sixteen years old and I attend Marigale Private College, which is mostly filled with pretentious adolescents who are living off of their parents' bank accounts.
I've lived with my dad, in New York City since I was 12. My parents were happily married when I was younger, it was Nate and Lauren D'Liest, rather than Nate D'Liest and Lauren Cape. After my dad came home one evening to find my mother cheating on him with our neighbour, he couldn't stand being in the same city as her, and neither could I. So we packed our bags and left, leaving mum and all of the memories in Brooklyn. In the beginning, I had hoped she would come to New York and tell us that there was some sort of misunderstanding, something my father and I didn't know about, but after months of waiting, I realised she didn't care enough to take the half an hour drive to visit us. I started a new life in New York.
