50. Barian clash: Part 1

'Like that would work. Your attack activates my spell Raptor's Intercept Form and it switches my monster's attack and defense points.' Neith points out to her revealed card. 'This way I don't take any damage.' She does get hit but her life points stay the same. 

'Neith!' Celeste can see that her sister gets blasted. 

'Come now, Neith, get up, so I can blast you again. My Tachyon Dragon can attack a second time because of transmigration.' Mizar hardly waits. 'Now, my dragon, attack with Tachyon spiral of destruction!' 

Neith shakes her head. 'It won't work because your monster and mine have no difference in attack points. Speaking of unnecessary.' Again that Neith is thrown back. This time to teleport back to where she was before. 

 'It's your turn.' He throws two cards down.   

'Good, I draw.' Her next card is the one she needs. 'I summon Raidraptor Vanishing Lanius and Fuzzy Lanius. Now I overlay my two Vanishing Laniuses and my two Fuzzy Laniuses to build the overlay network and Xyz summon!' All four monsters disappear into a galaxy-like field. 'Sharpen your claws and come forth, Raidraptor Rise Falcon!' 

'That pest again.' Mizar knows the Falcon from their previous duel. 

'By sending Fuzzy Lanius to the graveyard, I can add a Fuzzy Lanius from my deck to the hand.' Neith gets her card. 'Now, Raidraptor Rise Falcon attack! I activate its special ability, by using one overlay unit, Rise Falcon gains the attack points of your monster.' The falcon's attack points go up with three thousand points. 'Attack Tachyon Dragon!' 

Mizar acts quickly. 'I know what your monster can do. I activate the trap Damage Rebound to negate the damage and you have to shuffle one card back in your deck. But wait, there's more if that card is a monster than you take damage equal to its attack points.' 

'Not working, both my monsters belong in the Extra Deck and not my Main Deck.' Neith bounces back. 'Give it up, Mizar.' She does take one card back and puts it into the deck. Automatically, the deck shuffles all the cards. 'I'll end my turn for now.' 

'You lied to me.' Mizar takes his next card. 'Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon, attack Rise Falcon.' 

'And you didn't lie! I find that hard to believe. I've searched Barian world for my mother and what I found are signs of someone who was held in one of the prisons in the dungeons of the castle. That better not be my mother or that you are involved Mizar!' Neith knows that her eyes light up. 'I activate my Raptor's Intercept Form, it will switch the attack and defense points of Rise Falcon, reducing the damage!' She takes the blast and loses only a thousand life points. 

'What?!' Dumon has no idea that there was someone held hostage under the castle. 'I will look into it,' he promises Neith, only to see a sort of fire in her eyes. 

'One card, it's your turn.' Mizar is not affected by her actions. 

Neith has her eyes on her opponent while she draws the next card. 'I should thank you, because of your attack Rise Falcon's attack is now two thousand points high. Now my monster's ability activates, by using one overlay unit Rise Falcon gains your Tachyon Dragon's attack points. Prepare to lose, attack him!' 

'If you think that I haven't learned anything in our last duel, you're wrong. Activate Tachyon Flare Wing, by equipping this to my Tachyon Dragon, I can negate the effects of your monster.' Mizar stops the attack. 'Nash made you an Emperor today, that means that they're eight Emperors now, I don't keep track of what everyone does. End your turn so I can end this duel!' 

'You are so full of yourself.' Neith can't believe his arrogance. 'Go ahead, prolong your defeat!' She places one card down. 

'I'm ending this. Go! Chaos draw!' Mizar draws the card with a purple light. 

Neith shakes her head. 'So predictable, but go ahead, summon your Neo Galaxy-Eyes, I've been waiting to defeat it since our first duel.' 

'I didn't know that she could be this fiery.' Dumon is almost speechless by the way Neith duels Mizar. 

'If you weren't here, Dumon, she could've lost me. She takes that very personal.' Celeste looks at Dumon. 'You became a close friend very fast. She would do the same for you.' 

Mizar holds his card up. 'I activate Rank-Up-Magic The Seventh One! With this, I rebuild the overlay network with Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon. Chaos Xyz evolution!' 

She was waiting for his chaos monster to show. 'Took you long enough to summon him.' 

'I Xyz summon Chaos Number 107, Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!' Mizar proudly looks at his monstrous dragon. 'I activate Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon's special ability, by using one overlay unit, I can negate the effects of all your monsters and you can't activate cards or effects on the field. Attack Force Strix!' 

Knowing that one of her monsters would be destroyed, Neith lets it happen. With the attack, she loses two thousand life points. 'Enjoy it while it lasts.' 

'You didn't do anything to stop it!' Mizar thinks about what her strategy could be. 

'Come on, Mizar, your Neo Galaxy-Eyes can attack my monster again.' She knows because she analyzed the duel between Mizar and Kite. Her strategy is in motion and she knows that the Barian won't find out until it's too late. 

'If you really want to. Go, Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon, attack Rise Falcon.' 

Neith waits till the last moment and activates her spell card. In the smoke, she changes her monster. To go from a rank four to a rank six. 

'You never had a chance against my Tachyon dragon...' Mizar doesn't finish his sentence because the smoke clears and he can see a different monster in the air above Neith. 'How did you do that?' He's shocked to see that her monster must have survived somehow. 

She holds her hand toward him. 'Simply by activating my spell Rank-Up-Magic Skip Force, it lets me rank up my monster with a monster that is two ranks higher. This card turns into an overlay unit for my Raidraptor Revolution Falcon and your attack is negated.' 

Mizar clenches his fist. 'Don't play me!' 

'You played yourself, Mizar.' Neith can see that he ends his turn. 'My turn.' She draws the next card places it between her fingers and takes the card she needs. 'I activate Monster Reborn.' She holds it up for Mizar to see it. 

'And who are you summoning back? That annoying Rise Falcon of yours?' 

'What is she planning?' Dumon can't read her at all. 

Celeste smirks. 'You could never tell. She can change her strategy with the next card that her deck is giving her.' To turn to Dumon. 'I've seen most of her duels and never have I been able to read her or understand what she's planning.' 

'She's definitely an opponent for Mizar to match him like that.' Dumon has to admit that Neith is quite the duelist. 'And she hasn't used her chaos draw or Rank-Up-Magic The Seventh One. We all have that card now, provided by Nash.' 

Neith knows exactly what monster she needs. 'No, Mizar, that's a special surprise for you. I summon Number 107, Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon!'

What a move! Did you see that one coming? I didn't. Haha, writing this duel, I come up with combinations and I surprise myself regularly. ;)
