Prologue ~ Banishment (3 years ago)

Takeo raced his sister Mai to the palace to meet with their friends, "you're just gonna ditch me when we get there aren't you It's more than likely that Ty and Zula want to hang out with you."

"Yes, I fully intend on it," she said her face still set in stone as the wind blew her hair back. Mai rarely showed emotions, it's been like that their whole lives, Takeo was largely the same but only when he was around adults. "I don't know why you're complaining you have a lesson with general Iroh anyway."

He mumbled under his breath, "you're the one who's supposed to teach me."

Unfortunately, his big sister heard him, she smacked him upside the head, "I do teach you knuckle head." They skidded to a stop when they made it to the palace. The guards let them in already knowing that they had a lesson and a play date today. Although they would whine that they didn't have those anymore. "You only know how to throw those knives and arrows because of me. Not to mention Ty Lee's already taught you how to chi block as well."

At the mention of Ty Lee, Takeo blushed, making his sister smirk slightly at him. "General Iroh and Zuko have a war meeting though. I'm only gonna get an hour of training in before I have to rush over to you, Ty and Zula," He groaned as they made their way through the palace.

They stopped in front of the training room that Zuko and Iroh were undoubtedly in, "then make the most of the hour there's always tomorrow," she said not knowing tomorrow would never come. She kissed his forehead and left him in front of the room as she walked off to find Azula and Ty Lee.

He sighed before pulling his duel dao swords out from the sheath on his back and walking in.

Takeo walked outside to meet his sister and friends having gotten his hour of training done. He barely had time to set down his swords before he was basically tackled. "What the heck?" He mumbled disoriented.

"Sorry Keo," Ty Lee said gracefully jumping off him, "Azula pushed me." She helped him up, "come one." She pulled his arm making him stumble his way toward his sister and Azula.

"Oh, hello Takeo how was your lesson," Azula asked.

"Hello princess Azula," He loved Azula she was one of his best friends in fact, but when he was with her, he addressed her as princess unless prompted otherwise because she was just a little crazy. He kept a similar blank face to the one his sister wore and replied in a monotone voice, "same old drills." There was a moment of silence before the two peeled off into petals of laugher. Mai crosser her arms and glared at them.

"I told you no matter what you do it's going to be boring with him, you don't have to call me Princess right now," Azula had told him how boring his training with Iroh would be time and time again even before he started training. She only wanted the best for him, but Takeo thought Iroh was the best. "Why didn't you go to a real master like I suggested?"

"I'm starting to question that myself," he lied pushing his jet-black hair out of his face and retying It into its top knot.

In truth Takeo had chosen Iroh over a 'real master,' because Iroh knows when to quit. Iroh didn't push him to do something he wasn't ready to do, and he knew Takeo didn't work well under pressure. Well, that and the fact that he was Zuko's companion. Every royal traveled with at least two men at their side and Takeo was Zuko's right hand, he hadn't chosen another yet. His sister and Ty Lee were Azula's entrange.

"Keo check this out," Ty Lee's voice rang out, he spun around to the side and watched Ty Lee do all the new gymnastics she learned. He watches her intently, his tawny eyes never wavering from her figure.
