America's POV

"I'm not that sick. I don't need all the attention," Maxon grumbled.

I sent him a look, "Doctor said to stay in bed for the day, so that's what you do."

He huffed. He never takes a break, and he's worked himself to exhaustion. The doctor said it is the flu, but his body especially needs the rest since he never gets any.

"When did you ever listen to what you were told to do?" He asked, with an amused smile.

"Well when you pull out a medical degree, I'll weigh your opinion in the matter," I responded. He rolled his eyes, "Besides you need a break anyway, Maxon."

"We don't have time for breaks. We have a kingdom to run."

"Exactly. WE. Maxon, I'm here for a reason, I'm not completely helpless you know. The kingdom will last a couple days without you. Who do you think ran this place when you were in New Asia?"

"Fine. I suppose you'll have to do," he said with a smirk, "Try not to burn down the whole country while you're at it."

I tossed a pillow at him. He faked being shocked, "I can't believe you would attack your poor, unsuspecting- not to mention I'll- husband" he said dramatically.

I rolled my eyes, "Keep this up and instead of having me take care of you, I'll see to it that you'll have the meanest nurse in the whole infirmary."

He laughed, "You would never,"

"Wanna bet?"

He lowered his head in defeat, "I can play nice for a couple days, don't worry."

"You better."

"Now don't you have places to be? Stop worrying about me in here." He said with a smile.

"They can go without me for a couple more minutes, unless of course, you want me to go."

"My dear, you know very well I would spent every moment with you if I could."

I rolled my eyes. I felt his hand grab mine. I looked down at hom. How did he still look gorgeously handsome while being a zombie inside? He really is out of my league.

He kissed my hand and I smiled, "You're gonna get me sick you know."

"Then I would get to spend more time with you because we'd both be on bed rest."

"Then who would run the country?" I asked.

"The twins obviously," he said with a dorky grin.

"Oh haha, then we don't need any more toddlers running the country. Having u is enough."

He played offended, "That attitude is not going to make me feel any better, my dear."

"Is karma for calling me that."

"You know you love it."

"I married you for many reasons, and you calling me your dear is definitely not one of them," I said with a smile.

"Oh yeah? Then why did you marry me?" He asked with a grin.
