Ch 14: Special Someone

"Hey Bokuto, you've been so out lately! Do you wanna watch some baseball match later?" Bokuto's other seatmate, Ryuuichi asked.

"No thanks, I'll get going now"

".. He's been hurrying to go home everyday right?"

"Yeah I've noticed that" Haruo answered. They packed their bags and went to the field court.

"hey, do you think Bokuto has a girlfriend?" Haruo asked while walking to the court with Ryuuichi.

"hm? What made you think that?"

"well, he's been looking at his phone nonstop like he's waiting for a reply or a call. And whenever we would try and hangout with him, he's so eager to go home like he's going to meet someone special.. I mean he wasn't like this on the first day. Do you think he got some cute girl in batch? " Haruo explained.

" pff! Are you some stalker? I mean Bokuto is quite the volleyball player. There's no doubt some girl will fall for him"

"yeah, well. He's too obsessed with volleyball, the only person who could actually date someone like him.."

" is someone who plays volleyball too"

"that's what I was thinking! But eh, I mean the girls in our volleyball club is like so few!"

Gotta run so I could call Mrs. Akatani. I can't call her in school since I barely have any time.

"Hello?" Bokuto has been doing this for almost 2 months now. After the bell rings, he rushes down the halls and the staircase and back to his home so that he could finally call the mother of Akaashi, Mrs. Akatani and see the boy he loves so dearly. The more days pass, the more his heart aches. Seeing Akaashi like this never really made him happy but at least he gets to see his face.

"great timing today Bokuto, The doctor just came by and said he's getting better"

"seriously? That's great! I'm so happy" Bokuto smiled and looked at his phone where he can see the mother of Akaashi holding the phone in a room where Akaashi is confined.

".. I've always been wondering Bokuto, if it's not too rude of me to ask.. Why did you leave this country if you didn't want to?" Mrs. Akatani asked Bokuto on the other line.

".. I.. Never really wanted to leave in the first place. I just had no choice"

"you know, Akaashi is the most important person in my life right now.. He's all I got. And since he's that special to me, I'm always all ears to whatever he's got to say, though he doesn't really say much"

"haha he does reply with so little words. It's so weird how he can just say one or two words. I mean I can't do that!" Bokuto laughed after confessing he isn't the quiet type like Akaashi.

"Though I find it really cute.. He doesn't say much but I know he's got a lot on his mind.. And I can understand them"

"ah.." Mrs. Akatani knew her son and the boy on the other line had a special relationship. She knew from the start that Akaashi had someone like him who cared so much and not just as friends or buddies. Calling her everyday right on schedule just to see and hear about how he's doing is enough proof..

To say he's the special someone of her son.
