Bokuto's POV
Today's the first day I'll be playing for my new team. I'm just a substitute for now but it's still as fun as playing in Fukurodani! At least I get to play.
"hey, Bokuto! Hurry up or you'll be late again" Bokuto's mom yelled from the ground floor of their house.
"WAAAAIT, my other knee pad is missing!"
"it's right here!.. In the freezer? Did you put this here?"
"oh, I forgot I put that there, thanks mom"
"and why did you freeze your knee pad, you silly boy?"
"oh to keep my knees cold later, the gym was really big but it was really hot in there"
"silly idiot! Now that you left it here in the freezer, it froze! You can't use it now"
...
"oh. I didn't think of that happening"
"let's get in the car, hopefully it unfreezes before we get to the gym"
So I got in the car and looked around. We're currently in this place called California? Califowneria? I don't know. But we've passed by the Disney World a few times now and I've been asking my mom to visit it someday cus it looks so fun. But.. I realized, I don't wanna go there until Akaashi gets better.
"hey welcome to your first day playing here Bokuto!" Coach yelled as soon as he saw Bokuto walk in their enormous gymnasium.
"I'll be leaving now. Please take care of Bokuto. Bye Bokbok!"
"mom I told you not call me that :("
"but you said you like-
"No I don't, okay bye now mom! Take care!"
"goodbye Mrs. Akatani. Your son is in good hands" Coach waved her goodbye alongside Bokuto as she drives away from the gym.
...
"hey Bokuto" Kei and Kaito greeted the boy.
"oh hey!"
Haruki's just sitting down and shooting sharp looks at me. What did I ever do to you 😭
"The team will arrive in a few minutes"
"oh which team are we playing against?"
"The Assassins"
Pfffff, Assassins? I forgot I was in America for a second there.
"oh okay, I've never heard of them"
"they're really good, kinda surprised they requested a practice match with us"
"their weapon against any other team opposing them is their unpredictability. Their ace has this habit where he does a spiking position and then changes to a set in a matter of seconds!"
"it's insane. You never really know what attack he'll use"
That kinda sounds like Johjenzi and Seijoh combined.
"oh yeah sounds scary" Bokuto said after hearing their opponents' skills.
Haruki is still staring at me and giving me cold glares, it's so awwwkwaaaard 😖 I definitely should walk up and ask him why he's staring like that.
"hey, Haruki-San? Can I ask why y-
"pff" Haruki looked up to the view of the tall boy and giggled.
