..

"What's his name?" Akaashi slowly brought his hand over to touch the rough texture of the painting. He brushed his hand over the frame and started to tear up.

Huh? Why am I crying.. I don't even remember who this man is and who he is to me.

"you both were inseparable. Everyday you would cling to his leg begging him to not go to work" Akaashi's mom smiled and looked towards her son's direction who seemed to be on the verge of crying.

"His name was Han Akato. He had a blood of a Chinese since his mother is from China"

"oh"

His name doesn't ring a bell at all. Yet.. I'm crying like an idiot right here.

"Where is he?"

"he.. He died a long time ago Akaashi"

"what?"

Is this why I was tearing up? Ahh, my chest is tightening up.

"Akaashi! Are you okay? Should we go back to the hospital?" Mrs. Akatani hurriedly held Akaashi who seemed to be having a hard time breathing. He held on to the frame beside him and inhaled. He looked down and hugged his mom.

"mom.. I think I miss dad"

"I know you do, it's okay Akaashi"

It is?

"Hey hey hey! How are you Akaaashi! Do you like your home?" Bokuto exclaimed from the other end of the call.

"mhm. It looks really big"

"you guys are like rich. You often invite me to that house and we watch our volleyball matches, drink chocolate milk although you really love strawberry. And then you'd cook egg omelet for me because I always end up burning it" Bokuto laughed and shook his phone.

He looks really innocent when he laughs. As if his eyes shine most when he smiles.

"oh sounds like you love to eat omelets?"

"only when you cook them"

...

"uHHhh I mean I'm a terrible cook so the taste is really horrible and it looks bad.. what is that mom? Okay be right there. Got to go Akaashi! Call you later?" Bokuto frantically stood up the chair he was sitting on and ended the call.

He's cute.

"done with your call?" akaashi's mom stepped in with a bowl of his favorite soup and strawberry milk.

"mhm. He said his mom was calling him but I didn't hear anything"

"oh you know Bokuto, he panics when he says something embarrassing. Did he say something embarrassing?"

...

"yes I guess?"

"ah I see. Come, I brought your favorite soup!"

How does she know him so well? Do I really bring Bokuto in our house all the time for my mom to know so much about this guy?

Was I really close with you to the point that my mom actually loves the fact that I talk with you everyday?

"hey mom...who do you think Bokuto was to me?"
