LISEU's POV
"You're kidding, right?", I pursed my lips looking at Joshua.
'Please, tell me you're just kidding...'
"Uhmm-", he looked down and pressed his lips together too.
'Please...'
Suddenly he sighed and looked back up to me again with a chuckle.
"O-of course, I'm just tryna mess with you.", I sighed in relief. For someone like Joshua to like someone like me, it would be impossible, like it would take the rainbow to turn black and white for something like that to happen.
"I thought you'd laugh.", I gave him a bleak expression. How can I laugh when I have a lot of things going on.
"Funny, but I just can't bring myself to laugh.", He smiled even more while scrunching his nose. I looked back at the river but my mind was nowhere. I tried to come up with some thoughts to clear things out but there's none coming. I zoned out for some moment, almost forgetting about Joshua's existence.
"Is it because of Jeonghan?", He suddenly uttered causing me to look at him with rounded eyes, but regretted that I responded like that when I could've just came relaxed.
"N-No.", I tried to speak calmly but I still stuttered. This is the first time that Joshua and I talked like this and I'm not used to it.
"Stop denying it. I know everything.", My lips parted. He knows everything?
He grinned looking at me."W-What do you mean?", Was I really that obvious?
"We've been friends for almost six years! How can I not know you? I'm a bit hurt though.", He pouted and cupped his cheeks, earning a snort from me.
"You look funny!", I slapped his shoulders and he just laughs too. Back in L.A, Joshua has always been like this. He comforts me whenever I'm feeling down, and would even do weird stuffs, like earlier, just to make me laugh. He has been a really good friend, and until now I'm still wondering why he became one.
And I still can't believe how lucky I am to have him and Ari along with Soha and Dokyeom."See? Smiling won't hurt?", I like it how he never gets tired of smiling, even in the worst situation, I could still see him smile warmly.
"Can you start prepping this?", I walked away from the table where the ingredients are while wiping my hands on my apron. "Yes, Miss Liseu." Jaeah took over with the prepping while I started cooking the pasta.
It has been days since that crying mess night happened, though I still feel the same like that day, I tried not to show it since it's work that I'm dealing with right now.
And I admit that I realized that he hasn't been coming here, it has been six days. Six days without seeing him first thing when I get out. I'm the one who pushed him away but I'm also the one who, maybe, wants him here.
Isn't it normal if you like someone, you always want to see them and feel their presence, even from afar. But- that's not in my case, since he already has someone.
"I'll go first.", I said as I took off my apron and hang it.
"Yes, Miss Liseu! Be careful on your way!", I smiled at Jaeah. "See you later!", I then got outside and to my car.
This afternoon, I've decided to go to Jeonghan's grandma. I have been here in Korea for awhile but I've haven't visited her yet. She has become one of the persons that I look up to, and the thought of not visiting her for some chances makes me feel awful.
I first went to buy a bouquet of flower, before heading to the memorial park. I didn't know where her grave was so I have to ask someone who works there and fortunately she knows.
I crouched and placed the flowers beside her tomb. "Hello, grandma!", I bowed slightly and gently touched the cement tomb.
While I was just staring on her name written there, the wind blew and dried leaves started to scatter around. I looked around, and there were lots of people, sitting on the grass and some are talking to their companions.
"Eonnie?", I heard a familiar voice from behind and I immediately looked back.
'It's Jeonghan's younger sister.'
"It's really you!", She smiled at me widely and I stood up.
"H-Hello!", I awkwardly smiled back at her while dusting off my pants.
"Eonnie! It's been awhile!"
"Y-Yes, it has been. How have you been?", I asked and she just giggled.
"Just.... so-so?"
"Me too.", We both chuckled. His sister has matured too, the last time I was a little taller than her but now, I think it's already the same.
"Let's take a sit?", She sat first and I followed. She placed the flowers she bought beside mine, and greeted grandma after.
"I can't believe it has already been three years since grandma passed away.", She faintly smiled while looking at her very own grandma's tomb.
"We're all grieving for her death until now, but Jeonghan had it worst.", She now looked at me and I just nodded. I know that Jeonghan really lovesr his grandma, though he rarely shows, I could still feel it when he talked about her and even just by the looks of his eyes, I could tell that he's deeply affected.
"And it will be extra hard for him now that he's going away.", My head immediately halted. Going away? I wanted to ask her but I'm still contemplating since she knows too that we broke up.
"Did you know, eonnie?"
"No.", I tried so hard to keep calm outside, but in the inside, I'm panicking, which I shouldn't feel.
"Ah right! But I thought he promised grandma...", She mumbled the last part but I still heard it. I grew even more and more curious that I want to ask her all these questions.
"Actually, his flight is...", She glanced at her wrist watch, and when she did her eyes rounded. "In forty five minutes."
'FORTY FIVE MINUTES!?!?'
"Aren't you gonna see him off?", Yes, stay calm.
"No, he insisted that he's okay on his own-"
"Bye, I'll have to go! See you again, okay?", She still look dumbfounded by my sudden act. I stood up, bowed at her and dashed out of the park.
'For the last time, okay? Just for forty five minutes, I want to follow my feelings again, and I promise after this, I will stop.'
I arrived at the airport pretty fast since there's no traffic. I run inside and looked everywhere for him, when I got to the departure lounge, he was already there. He was looking down while pulling his luggage.
I slowed down my pace but still breathing heavily. And I don't know since when did these tears fall. My mind was occupied of the thought of him leaving in less than fifteen minutes that I failed to realize what has happened to me physically.
I stopped behind him and called him out, sobbing. "Yoon Jeonghan!", He turned around and immediately looked surprised when he saw me just behind him.
