Rhythmical thuds of something metallic hitting a wooden board was what woke you up.You fluttered your eyes open as an uneasy feeling settled at the pit of your stomach making you groan, you tried to bring your hands to your face to massage your forehead and temples but the action resulted in you wriggling pointlessly.
Oh, right. Tied up like a piglet, you almost forgot about that detail.
A man sat cross-legged in front of you playing with a pocket knife.
He was throwing it on the floor beside him with such nonchalance, he looked like he didn't even care if he'd got the deck damaged.
You've never seen him, not even when the whole crew circled you a few hours ago.
"Hm, you finally awoke." he looked up and put the knife away in one of his many pockets.
You looked at him with wary eyes as he stood up and carried a bucket of water towards you. Your expression changed as soon as he was in right in front of you.
"What? You wanna throw it on me? Again? Haven't you had enough?!"
"Feisty, are we?" He chuckled while holding a big spoon to your mouth "Drink up."
Your eyebrows furrowed but your eyes eyes lit up once you were faced with the spoon. Your throat had screamed for some water for hours now, so you wasted no time chugging it down in a single breath.
After you finished drinking, you remained silent.
While he set the bucket down in the shade you got the chance to scan him from head to toe.
He had dark hair and tan skin, his yellowish shirt was peppered with numerous stains and he wore a sleeveless lather blazer over it, on his waist hung a belt to which were strapped another two or three knives along with other strange chiseled tools.
From his neck dangled a long silver chain with a bizarre charm at the end which seemed to be missing a few pieces. It had a very interesting shape nonetheless.
He was already heading belowdecks but suddenly stopped in his tracks with a hand on the doorframe.
"We dine at sundown, I'll bring you some food after we're done. Until then, wait and do not fall asleep again."
He glanced at you through his black fringe making sure you understood when you didn't respond, you hummed back and, in a blink of the eye, the guy was gone.
The sun was already close to touching the horizon, a few more minutes, maybe fifteen or even ten, and the knife guy would come back to announce dinner for the others.
You eyed the quartermaster at the wheel and then at the dude dangling from the ropes serenely talking with him and tugging at his hair obviously trying to annoy him.
Captain Redhead was nowhere to be seen.
"Ayo, Yunho! Wanna spar with me for a few until Hwa's done with dinner?" Shouted a voice from your left.
"Sure thing Jongho! I'm comin', gimme a sec." You heard a second voice say from somewhere above you.
Suddenly, a loud thump boomed beside you and a very tall figure jogged happily towards the guy who had just called him.
How in hell? Where'd he come from?
You looked up to see the crow's nest and a long rope attached to it. Okay, now it makes a little more sense, but still...
The boy who called him was the same one who was repairing the railing earlier that morning and now, instead of a scraper, he was holding two old rags in his hand, smiling brightly.
