Song of the Chapter : Silence by Marshmello (feat. Khalid)

Hero's POV

       "Draco! Come!"

I tighten my grip on Draco's hand. My eyes stare forward at the death eaters. Out of the corner of my eye I see tears falling onto Draco's cheek.

All of the sudden, I feel his hand ripping from mine. I look up at him and he refuses to make eye contact.

         "I'm sorry." He whispers.

Draco walks through the crowd of students and across the courtyard. My head is spinning. Even though I see him walking away I refuse to believe it.

      How could you?

Voldemort gives Draco a hug before signaling him to stand beside his father. My jaw clenches. I feel a hand tug on my sleeve. I turn and see Amber standing beside me. I let out a sigh of relief. I'm not the only death eater standing with Hogwarts.

Draco's POV

When I look across the courtyard at Hero she's staring down at the ground.

   Please look at me.

She looks up but stares right past me. My heart falls into my stomach. If only she knew the real reason for me changing sides.

Hero's POV

Neville slowly makes his way to the middle. All eyes move to him. He's completely beat, can barely stand.

"Well I must say, I'd hoped for better." Voldemort sighs.

The death eaters all cackle. Amber's hand interlocks with mine as a tear falls from my cheek. I see Draco staring at me from the other side and it makes me want to vomit. There's so little hope left in me but I will not go down without a fight. And the rest won't either.

          Hogwarts is our home.

Draco's POV

While everyone is distracted by Longbottom's speech I glance over at Potter. His eyes are closed but I know he's not dead.

        I saw him move.

"We lost Harry tonight," Longbottom shouts. "But he's still with us, in here."

Harry's eyes open slightly. My heart rises from my gut and nearly bursts through my chest.

              I knew it.

Hero's POV

           "They didn't die in vain."

I build up the courage to look at Draco. He turns his head to me and smiles. Before I can show him my anger he looks over at Harry in Hagrid's arms. And then I see what he's staring at.

            Harry's alive.
