Chapter 26

Draco's POV

        It is the morning of finals. I barely got any sleep last night so it's already off to a bad start. Plus, my mother sent me an owl this morning asking for Hero and I to visit.

         Class is in five which means no time for a decent breakfast either.

      I grab my books and follow behind Zabini and Nott who are also running late.

               "Nervous for finals?" Theodore asks the both of us.

     I stay quiet. Blaise sighs and says, "No, because we actually studied."

      Nott huffs and walks away. Before Zabini tries to start a conversation I bolt to class. Hero is already sitting in her spot, going over notes.

                   "How tired are you?"

     She turns around slowly. I let out a chuckle and she rests her head on my stomach.

                "Do you think we'll have time to rest later?" She asks.

       I nod then take a seat at the table. When Harry and Hermione enter the room they wave at us. It takes me a minute to react, only because it's new. Never did I think Harry and I would be friends. Don't get me wrong, I did want it for a while. But it was kind of clear that it would never happen.

            "Notes away, it's exam time." Slughorn announces. Everyone groans dramatically. Hero shoves everything off the desk and crosses her arms.

            "Do you want to come see my mum with me tonight?" I whisper.

                   Her eyes light up.

                        "I'll take that as a yes."

      Slughorn hands out the papers and starts the timer. Every once in a while when I know he isn't looking I squeeze Hero's thigh under the table. She tries her best to ignore it but I see her cheeks burning red. I know she can't resist me, and it makes me feel good.

Hero's POV

             "Thank Merlin it's over!" I sigh.

        Draco and I head to the Slytherin common room. Once inside, I race him to the sofa and of course he gets there first.

          "Oh, did you want to sit here?" He says while stretching his body out.

           I roll my eyes aggressively then jump on top of him. My head rests on his chest and I hear every beat of his heart.

          "Wake me up when we have to leave." I mutter.

           "What makes you think I don't want to sleep?" Draco huffs.

              I ignore him and close my eyes.

              "Time to get up, sleep head."

          I rub my eyes and look up at Draco who must've decided to stay awake. His hand runs through my hair which makes me close my eyes once again.

           "Oh no you don't." Draco snaps and starts tickling my side. I instantly hop up. He grabs our robes and signals me to start walking.
