Hero and the trio spent the rest of that summer together. Not only did they go to Wiltshire, but they traveled the entire continent. After constantly being caught up in problems that were too big for teenagers to have to deal with, they took lots of time to just be kids.

Eventually, summer ended. Hero turned 18 and had to start figuring out what to do with her life. She had multiple jobs here and there. While working, she studied her father's notes and learned everything she could about magic. The good and the bad.

Hogwarts took about a decade to reopen. Mainly because no one wanted to send their kids there after what had happened. But soon enough, the memories of the wizarding war faded and the school's doors welcomed hundreds of new witches and wizards inside.

Hero took a trip back as soon as possible. It took hours of convincing, but Professor McGonagall managed to convince her to start teaching at the school. She is now the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.

Hero also changed her last name legally to Snape.

Hero's POV

Draco was right, I'm an amazing teacher. I give most of the credit to my father, though. He left a lot of books behind in his classroom and I'm still reading through them all.

A new school year starts today. Professor McGonagall left the attendance paper on my desk this morning. After setting down my things, I pick it up and scan the list. I feel my heart light up when I read-

        Albus Potter

I let out a heavy sigh and lean back in my chair. Suddenly I start to hear students talking. I look up and see multiple kids racing in and taking their seats. They all have the same amount of joy as the rest.

I look up at the ceiling, and smile. Even though I can't actually see them, I know Draco and my father are smiling back.

This school is the best and worst thing that has ever happened to me. It's where I found family, and lost it.

Where I found love, and where I had it taken away.

But most importantly, it's my home.
