Her fingers are shaking on the steering wheel. She muttered a few curses under her breath before putting up the siren again – probably because she didn't want to stop at the red light. It's quite amusing for him to watch but he also knew how he's running out of time.
"Miss...can you pull over?"
"What – why?"
"Please," He clutched on his rib and pretended to be in such a pain. It worked when she slowed down the vehicle and pulls to the side.
Jungkook opens the passenger door quickly, ready to make a run. As much as he appreciates the girl's enthusiasm and concern, he can't be seen or registered anywhere. He needs to go. Just as he's about to pull himself up, his body was pulled back by something. Damn seatbelts!!
She suddenly appeared in front of the door as he released the damn thing. How did she get out so quickly?!
"Why, are you okay?" Her eyes became wider and Jungkook had to blink in order not to mistake her for a life-sized doll.
"Yeah...I just –" He got to a stand and flashed a smile. "I'm fine. I really am,"
"You're not fine, you need to –"
"Listen," He's definitely not having it. This girl just came out of nowhere, ruined his night of self-beating after a kill, and kept saying he's not fine when he is! It's my damn body – why is she acting like she knows it all?? And why is she blocking his way?!
"Thanks for trying to help, but you really didn't have to. I got it under control –"
"You were surrounded and beaten up by 8 grown men. Your face is covered in blood and you can barely walk –"
"No one asked for your help –"
She gasped and sighed sarcastically, which somehow got Jungkook thinking 'she's cute as fuck' but ignored whatever roaming in his guts. The girl suddenly turned to study him from head to toe – making him slightly nervous.
"Are you scared of the hospital? Is that why?" She squints her eyes a little. Hearing this pretty, little, nosy stranger saying he's 'scared' of something bruised his ego a little, but he has to pick his battles right. It's either he agrees or she'll keep probing...so he nods.
"Fine...I won't bring you there then. What about a clinic?" Persistent isn't she?
"A pharmacy will do,"
"You can't walk into a pharmacy looking like this. They'll call for help,"
"Then just leave me here, I know how to find my way back,"
She thought about it for a few good seconds, then crossed her arms. "I'll get something for you. Get back in the car,"
...
"If you're not a cop, what are you doing with a beacon?" He asked before flinching as the cold, wet cotton reached his the side of his right cheek, stinging his skin a little.
"My dad gave it to me. Said it might be useful in case of emergencies," She answers casually, too focused on her task of cleaning up his face.
"What kind of emergencies? You get into trouble a lot?"
"Hardly," She laughed a little. "I've never had to use it until now," She dabs more liquid onto a gauze and plasters the small thing somewhere below his right eye. Jungkook forced his eyes to look away as she leans closer to examine her work better.
She smells fresh – not the laundry type and certainly not the flowery type...what is this scent? It's nice...and calming...
"Why are you out in the middle of the morning? Isn't it dangerous for a girl to be driving alone at this hour?" He pats himself at the back internally for being able to talk casually being this close to her.
"Maybe that's why my dad gave me the thing," She smiles – not quite at him, more at the thought. "I finished my work late...had to close the store most of the time,"
"Oh...so you run a business?"
"No...it's a part-time job. I'm a student," She raised his chin with one finger to examine more, then on his other cheek and ear. "Okay, no cuts there. Here," She took a water bottle and a paper cup, handing it over to him. "Goggle this and spit out,"
Jungkook did as told when she backs away a little, giving him space. When he's done, he leaned back on the headrest to catch his breath.
"Okay...just a little one here," She points towards his lower lip, and starts dabbing the antiseptics on it. Damn, he wished that's her fingers and not the cotton - "Does it hurt?"
She looked so concerned, he could see the frown underneath those bangs covering her forehead. Earlier he thought her hair color was dark brown, but now he can see that it's actually dark grey. That's a nice color...she looks nice in that tone.
He closed his eyes when he's unable to look away from her. When was the last time he was taken care of like this? It felt like a long time ago. 16, 17 years? Her soft and delicate fingers reminds him of Mrs Kim's same touch.
He clears his throat to get rid of the memory. "So um...what are you studying?"
"Photography,"
"Oh...nice pick,"
"Are you a photographer?"
"No...it's more like a...a hobby," He can't just say that he takes aesthetically-pleasing pictures to do research on his targets, can he? Her plump lips formed an 'o' and he wonders briefly how it would feel like to softly bite on the lower. Damn it...maybe I should've let Eunha give me that blow just now! Then I wouldn't have all these imaginations running for this girl!
"Which uni?"
"Seoul National," She puts on small plaster and smiles brightly up to him. "Done!"
