"It's so nice up here..." Lisa inhaled the cold night breeze and wrapped her hoodie around tighter. When she looks to her side, he's staring into the dark space, smiling by himself.
"Yeah...I like it. It's...quiet,"
"You don't like the city much, do you?" She chuckled.
"Not that...just that...sometimes it's too loud," He looks down to his fingers. He seems nervous, and Lisa can't think why. She's the one who should feel nervous here – he brought her here and there are no one in sight! But for some strange reason, she's not afraid...
"Very unfortunate for you. My friends always say I'm loud like, all the time!" He laughed a little, looking like an adorably shy little boy. "So what's your story? Like, what do you do – are you studying or..."
"I uh...I work,"
"Where?"
"Just...by myself,"
"Like your own business?"
"Something like that,"
"Oh...you look young though – how old are you?"
"23,"
"Same as me!" She squeaked a little and saw he flinched at her high-pitched voice. "Sorry...told you I'm loud,"
"It's okay," He laughed again. Then it's silence again. Lisa plays with her knotted fingers, feeling awkward all of a sudden. He really doesn't talk a lot...or is he still upset that I lied?
"So um...is your family in Seoul too?"
"No..." O...kay...
"Oh, where are they then?"
"Do you ever wonder...like if you could go anywhere in the world...and live happily...where would you go?"
What a random question. "Well...I've always wanted to go to Paris. I heard it's beautiful there,"
He nodded but his expression shows that he's not impressed by her answer. Why? Well, why do you care? It's your answer –
"But I'm not sure if I wanna live there," She blurts out. "Cus I've never been,"
"It is a beautiful city –"
"Oh, you've been there?"
"No, I saw pictures,"
Lisa laughed at his smirk. "What about you? Where would you go?"
He smiles down to the small rocks he's playing with in his hand. "I don't have big dreams...so probably Jeju. Heard it's quiet there..."
"Wow, you really don't like the city! Jeju's so near...it's achievable, I think!"
"You're a city girl, aren't you?"
"I mean...I grew up in the city – so yes!"
"What's good about it?"
"Well...there are a lot of cafes –"
"There are cafes in Jeju too. I'm thinking of opening one if I move there,"
"Um...yeah...but there are no shopping malls,"
"Ahh...of course you need shopping malls,"
Why does it sound like he's judging her?? Is it bad that she likes to shop and hang out like normal girls do?
"It's where everyone hang out –"
"I don't think 'everyone' hangs out at shopping malls,"
Okay, there's no way she can be polite anymore. This guy is just too self-centered and Lisa's not taking it! "Except for you, of course – and why are you judging?"
