You've heard the saying, "Writers need to be thick-skinned."

It makes me think of callousness, or an 'I-don't-care-what-anyone-thinks' indifference. But I've found through my time working with editors and other trench-faring authors, that it's actually more about being 'thin-skinned.'

Thin-skinned here meaning: being bold enough to be genuine. Open, even if there was a risk of getting hurt.

With that said, it's not my aim to hurt any of you! Rather, it's my hope that my experiences in the publishing world will help anyone here who seeks to grow.

In this book, I will be putting my own work – The Omen Girl – out to be critiqued by everyone, so that we can be bold together!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

1. Truthful critiques with the structure of traditional publishing in mind.

2. Knowledge gained from working with agents and industry editors.

3. Encouragement. I've been in the trenches and know what it's like!

I WILL NOT CRITIQUE:

1. Anything not in English, as I cannot read them!

2. Fanfiction and nonfiction, as they are quite the different breed of stories.

3. Poetry. I do not have enough experience!

4. Work that includes explicit smut.
