You wake up to Sakura shaking you awake, you rub your eyes and see the gym, where it all happened. You step out of the bus and stand in the front with coach and Sakura, you give your speech which is basically along the lines of doing 3 things. Behave we are not on our home court, show appropriate sportsmanship to your own team and the opponent, and everyone's least favorite rule... LEAVE THE BOYS ALONE ON THE OPPOSING TEAM. We all walk in and the court falls silent you see the karasuno girls team and all of their jaws drop, you throw a slick wink at them and keep walking. You tell the girls to get ready and do what they need to do, you go outside to take a breather collapse on the ground crying. You feel somebody standing above you and it's Ushijima with a worried look on his face, he tells you to get up. You can never read him sometimes he's nice and sometimes he's as cold as ice, you get up wiping your tears... he tells you to pull yourself together you have a team to deal with.
You get up and finish wiping your tears his talk seems to knock you back into badass mode and you sigh, you tell him thanks and punch his shoulder. "thanks bub". He looks at you in a cold tone, he says "you know I hate nicknames" you say i know but it's suits you, you smile and pull yourself together. You give ushijima a tight huh and he hugs you back, you pull away and run quickly because you don't want him to see you blushing. But just before you went out of view he yells your name, you look and and he says" good luck your gonna kill it". you smile and wink at him, you see Tendou walk up behind ushijima and he yells good luck along with all the other boys. You say thanks as you head in, ready to dominate karasuno.
~flashback-
hey kags you say as you run into his arms, he gives you the biggest hug ever, you hear tanaka and noya in the back making kissing noises. Your let go of kageyama and give them the death stare as usual the boys overreact and run away hiding behind kiyoko. You and kiyoko laugh and kageyama give you a random kiss on the cheek, you smile and ask " what was that for"? He just says idk i just love you.. that was the first and last time he said that to me. well i love you too kags, now let's go get meat buns!
~present time ,, time skip (set 1)~
You see the boys team walk in and sit down on the bleachers, they always watch our games for new tips and just to cheer us on. You get the first serve and get a service ace, you hear the Tendou scream "OH YEAH YALL LOOK AT THAT BALL JIGGLE, THATS MY BEST FRIEND"! You laugh and realize that you really love this sport it's like a second love, you hit it but the other team receives it but the girl falls back and just lays there. She gets up crying, they call a time out ... turns out she's a first year, you run up to her and apologized she was subbed out and the game continued. After about an hour you guys ended up winning the set, you all huddled up and screamed as a hype booster. As you all calm down you see the boys from karasuno walk in and they sit on the bleachers on their side, you see him for the first time in a whole year.
You froze and just looked, there was nothing to say... you were over him but seeing him only brought back memories. He looks happier you think and let out a baby smile, if he's happy i'm happy... you focus back and get ready for set 2. Your practicing your spikes when all of a sudden you stare dead at each other , he rolls his eyes and looks the other way. Suddenly rage filled and consumed you, and all you could focus on was the game.. you think "I have to show him what he missed, i know he's not coming back but he's gonna remember me". The whistle blows and you are on the bench for now. You will come in as a secret weapon says the coach as she put her hand on your shoulder, you nod waiting because nothing can prepare anybody for the show your about to put on.
the score is 20,21 your team is winning obviously, your anticipation is rising because you know it's time, the whistle blows and you stand up. You switch out telling your team mate good luck, it was your turn to serve... while your getting ready the boys shiratorizawa team is cheering you on. You smile and realize what's about to happen, you look over and see karasunos boy team staring dead at you. You didn't play volleyball there so when they realized it was you they were shocked, but they heard about you. The whistle blew and i threw the ball forward and ran up and smacked it with all i and, eveyrhting went silent... everyone's mouths were wide open even your team mates. The gym goes ballistic and then girls come up to you and go how did you do that? All you say is adrenaline, the coach yells " Y/N KEEP IT UP GIRL"! I looked over and saw kageyama mouth wide open, I did it... I proved him wrong.
~time skip (end of all sets) ( shiratorizawa won)~
The girls and I shook hands with the other team and I talked to the freshman I hit and taught her how to receive stuff like that she thanked me and gave me a hug. I was already in love with her she was the kindest soul with a love for volleyball, she just needed to step out of her comfort zone and get the job done. Finally it was speech time Sakura gives the after game speech so you stand there and listen, but there's only one thing on your mind. Kageyama. He saw me and was stunned, my adrenaline wore off and I was just sad, we were done and I needed to accept that. The boys got up and congratulated us, all the boys came up to me and high fived me for when i subbed in. I felt a tall figure behind me but i knew it was Tendou and i was tired so i elbowed him as he was jumping on me. He screamed ow! Me and the rest of the guys laughed before the coach called the boys on the court.
The fun was only beginning, the boys game was always the highlight of your day after you played, we get to cheer them on with our high pitched screams. I was also getting excited because Tendou told me about this new move him and ushijima were working on, and karasuno being karasuno they already knew it was bound to work. The match has begun and kageyama started the serve, he got a service ace because one of the second years was off his game. As a vice you were basically the one screaming half the time like a crazy mom, so you said "pull it together second year" with a death stare, he froze in fear and ushijima and tendou laughed. Kageyama hit another ball but this time the stupid second year hit it, but it knocked the wind out of him. The girls laughed and he blushed in pure embarrassment.
~flashback~
the bleachers, i used to sit here to cheer him on, all the time the coach was nice enough to let me sit at every game. I loved cheering him on and he loved the attention, all the boys were jealous because they wish they had something like what we had. Little did i know i barely meant anything to him. And he meant everything to me, even thought all the talk about putting volleyball before me i should have know it would all come to an end. But i never expected to end the way we did.
~time skip (set 3)~
After a couple of matches shiratorizawa won the first but with all the second years and failed attempts at the new skill ushijima and tendou used, karasuno won the second set. That sent ushijima into a mad man and sent Tendou into complete psycho mode. When they got like this the game was intense, all the girls noticed and were all scared for their lives... they knew the outcome of this crazy duo and felt bad for karasuno. The score was 20 to 22 we were winning and hinata and kageyama had pulled one of their quick attacks, everyone was so shocked but you weren't you've seen it all before. karasuno kept going with the quick attacks until both teams were at set point, it was Tendous serve and you screamed " YOU GO TENDOUUUU". He laughed happily and the serve went over, karasuno tried a quick attack but got blocked, nishinoya was too quick and sent it into a change ball. Kageyama set it and tanaka hit it but the second year received it quickly. It's time i thought, i knew what was about to happen and oh god was i ready.
