"And I've been doing it ever since," she finished, sniffing, and turning her head away from me so I wouldn't see the tear forcing its way down her cheek.
"It's okay," I said quietly reaching out and placing my hand gently on her arm.
"I promise Evie, I will not let anyone hurt you."
"But how?" She cried looking at me through her hair which ha dialled over her face. "He's Sebastian King. No one stops him."
I watched the girl who I had always seem strong, bold and confident let her exterior walls fall and I finally saw the small, broken girl who just wanted a normal life.
For a few moments neither of us spoke. We were just consumed in our own thoughts. Mine for the past, Evie's for the future.
"I don't even know what the point in living is anymore," she murmured so quietly that I almost didn't hear.
Key word. Almost.
"What did you just say?" I whispered.
She didn't reply and only stared at the ground.
"What did you say? I yelled.
She turned to look at me, shocked and scared.
I wasn't being Kaia Mitchell; calm, focused, in control. I was Davian King; Vicious, angry, and ready to kill.
"How dare you say that!" I yelled at her. Deep down I knew what I was doing was wrong, but I couldn't stop. "You and I have both lost so many people we love to that man so don't you dare let him take away one person that I love."
"You're Evelyn Summers," I whispered. "Don't let him break you."

I had apologised to Evie later that night, and she had immediately forgiven me, but I couldn't forgive myself for doing that to her.
Her eyes, her haunting eyes had looked the same as Danny's had the night I left.
The night I ran.
I couldn't believe that I had let the part of me that was sister to Sebastian emerge. I would not let some fucking asshole who I just happened to share blood with ruin anymore of my life. At first I had regretted become friends with Evie. My only thought had been what would happen if she found out who I was. I would have to run again. To leave behind everything I had built for myself here. But things have changed. Although not to her, the years that I haven't seen her have faded away, and for me, it feels like nothing has changed. She's still the same little girl who used to watch Doctor Who whilst eating a tube of salt and vinegar Pringles on the sofa every Saturday night. The only person that has changed is me.
And if I do get found out, I know now that I wouldn't blame Evie for it. Because she has done nothing but be honest with me. She's not the one hiding behind lies.
She's not the one who's so paranoid that she can't even confide in her own friend.
She's not the one who's a murderer.
I suddenly heard a gentle knock on my door.
"Come in!" I called.
Tentatively Evie pushed open the door and came and sat beside me in my bed.
"You okay?" She asked softly.
I held my head in my hands and let out a sigh.
"Yeh, I'm fine." I said running my hands threw my hair.
"Could you um," she mumbled. "Could you tell me about why you left your gang?"
I stared at her, my eyes wide before quickly gaining my composure.
"Uhh," I began.
"Don't worry about it, it's fine, I shouldn't have intruded, she said quickly, turning away."
"No no it's fine," I said hurriedly, not knowing what I was saying.
I took a deep breath and began.
"It all started the day my brother killed my family."
