Finally chapter!!! It's a short one as I've got an epilogue to go with it after. This feels like the end of an era bit I[ve loved getting back to it this year

Time seemed to slow down in front of me. The images of the two men I loved flickered before my eyes. A million thoughts must have passed through my mind as I stood there, frozen. The realisation that I couldn't live without either of them.

"Why couldn't you have just killed me?" I screamed at Sam, who was still on the floor. A slow smile grew on his lips.

"Because that wouldn't be a punishment." He whispered.

"You're fucking sick," I yelled, my hands to my head. I had to think. Time was running out. Even if I called Evie and she agreed to help me, there was mo guarantee either of us would get there in time. I also knew that I would sacrifice myself in a heartbeat to save either one of them, but I couldn't assume that if it came to it, Evie wouldn't save herself. I had to choose. Whose life to risk. Seb or Danny.

Once I'd made the call to Evie my mind became very clear. Evie agreed to assist me, and now I just had to hope sh'ed succeed. I didnt have room to worry about her mission as well as my own.

My eyes zeroed in on the room where I knew he'd be waiting. I gritted my teeth, preparing every fibre of my muscles. I kicked down the door and there he was. Damaged and broken, but still alive.

"Davina?" He voice croaked, and I smiled.

"Hi, Seb."

After I made sure he was safe, I collapsed down against the wall next to him. We both looked battered. I leaned my head back and closed my eyes.

"Thank you," he croaked. I looked at Seb's bruised face and smiled. "Why did you help me?"

I raised my eyebrows.

"I thought you'd go for Danny?" He repeated.

"Figured I owed you one," I breathed.

"Really?" He said seriously. I sighed, rubbing my eyes.

"You put me first," I whispered. "It's about time I did the same for you."

We looked at each other with an understanding that we hadn't shared in years.

"So is he?" Seb began.

"I don't know," I croaked. "But I think its time we find out."

We both got to our feet, and with most of Seb's weight leaning on my shoulder, we staggered to the car park. Seb used his good hand to smash the window, and we quickly managed to start the car.

"Just like old times," he said amused. I smiled, but couldn't bring myself to reply.

We sped all the way to Kings. The wait was almost too much to bare. We eventually arrived and went through the gates. I helped Seb out the care and made our way to the main doors. As we pushed them open I closed my eyes, praying that when I opened them it would be Danny I saw.

It was Evie, standing alone in the foyer. Our eyes met in a broken exchange. She looked into Seb's eyes, and although my heart was breaking, I couldn't help but smile at them. They were both messed up in their own ways, but they needed each other. After everything they'd been through, they deserved that.

It was then that I felt my first tear fall. Only one. It was enough, to grieve for all that had been lost. But Evie just smiled, tears in her own eyes. The door to Seb's office opened, and in the entrance was a tall figure.

Danny.

In the shock of seeing him, I couldn't move. He hadn't changed. Though bruised and cut, his handsome features were as striking as the day I met him. He too looked like he'd seen a ghost. I suppose in a way he had - for him I'd been dead all this time.

Everything from them became a blur. There were hugs, kisses, I love you's and everything in between. That night he brought me to life like he'd done all those times before, and as my fingers traced his hard chest I knew I was home. As I stared into his shining blue yes, all the time we;d been apart seemed to melt away. I didn't tell him about the baby, not yet. There would be time for that, but for now, I was content to be in his arms.

In that moment it didn't feel like we were gang leaders. We were just a boy and a girl. And I liked it.
