Sebastian's POV
"Honestly though, she was fucking hot."
I inwardly rolled my eyes, continuing to read through the sheets and sheets of data since our last arms trade.
"Yes, so you've said," I replied, distracted.
"So hot," Callum day dreamed.
I shook my head without looking up. Callum had been on cloud nine since our job last night, and from the way he was going on about the recruit who'd worked last time, he'd be getting into her in no time.
"Should have seen her, mate," he said happily.
"Well if she's as good as you say she, I wish I had," I replied.
"I call dibs," Callum shot, competitiveness in his eyes. It was laughable.
"All I care is that she got the job done," I replied, still skimming figures.
"She did more than just get it done," Callum said, looking far too pleased with himself, as if he'd done the job himself.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Guess how long it took her to get the job done?" He proposed.
"Thirty minutes?" I said. This guy had been evading us for a long time. It was one of the reasons I'd been so pissed when Evie couldn't work, I'd wanted our best team on this.
"Three," he replied looking smug.
I raised my eyes from my papers to meet him.
"Three?" I said.
"Three." He confirmed. There was no way that could be right.
"Who the hell is this girl?" I asked.
"I've no idea," he laughed, "though I plan to find out soon."
"Get Evie in here," I said seriously. Callum looked taken aback.
"Sure," he said, quickly leaving the room.
Who the hell was this girl. Some friend of Evie's? No one is that good. You don't just get that good. If Davina was really back, I couldn't be too suspicious. I had no idea what she was capable of, and what she'd do.
Evie strode in the room, already looking better than yesterday.
"Who is she?" I asked hurriedly.
"What?" she asked amused.
"That girl you gave the task to yesterday?" I asked. She looked worried.
"Why do you care?" She replied evasively. I frowned
"Why do you?" I asked suspiciously.
"She's my friend," she said shrugging, "and I don't need her getting involved with any of your shit."
"I need to know, Evie," I replied seriously. "This is serious."
She looked at me seriously.
"Kaia," she said, with no emotion. "Kaia Winters."
I quickly got up from my seat and strode out the room. I needed to find this girl. Recruits were training in the gym right now. If she was as noticeable as Callum claimed, she wouldn't be hard to find. I hurried out of the main house and got into the first car waiting outside.
"Drive." I said to the driver. I felt restless for the entire journey. I had a terrible feeling about this. As we pulled up at the gym, I jumped from the car before it had had time to come to a complete stop. Heading straight to the door I flung them open. Hank our trainer froze, eyeing me as if to ask if I needed back up. I shook my head slightly at him and waited till he continued sparring. I walked past groups of men and women training, seeing no one remarkable. At the far mat I noticed someone.
"Isn't she great."
I turned around startled to see a shirtless Callum behind me, I seemed he'd been searching for this girl too.
"Her?" I asked motioning my head to the redhead on the mat.
"Yeah," he said smugly.
I looked at her closer. I couldn't see her face, but there was something familiar about her. The way she carried herself, the way she evaded every hit sent her way. Who was it? As she sent a flying kick to her opponent, and swung round pinning them to the ground I froze.
Davina.
She panted, her bright Scarlett hair hanging in front of her face. She through it over her head and suddenly met my eyes. I couldn't move. It was like seeing a ghost.
Then what did she? She smirked.
I had to get out of here. I was going to kill her, but I couldn't be doing it in front of this crowd, and there was no way I was ready to hear Callum telling me how hot that traitor was. I turned and walked as quickly as I could out the gym, taking deep breaths of the cold air.
What was I going to do?
By the time I arrived back at the house I was no further to having a clue as to what to do. What the fuck was she doing here? Before I could reach my office, Mason came running down the corridor, a terrified expression on his face.
"They're gone," he croaked.
"What?" I asked fearfully.
"The girls," he said quietly, "the entire camp was raided. They're all gone."
I didn't say anything. I turned slowly and made it to the office before I lost it. I punched the oak door with every bit of anger I had. How could I have been so stupid. I should have finished her there and then. With my fists bloody, I turned my head to Mason.
"Get Kaia Winters, Evie and Callum here now," I spat.
As I waited for them to arrive I paced the room over and over again. I had no plan, the truth was I was taken completely off guard. Even after realising she had saved our prisoner, I had never imagined just how close to home she was. It had been years since I'd seen her. As much as I was filled with hatred for her actions, my heart ached at the thought of seeing her again. At one time we had been unbreakable. The pair of us could defeat anything. That was until Danny Summers came along. What I was going to say, let alone what I was going to do, when I saw her again was something I had no plan for.
I heard footsteps approaching down the corridor.
Fuck.
