Chapter 1

Present

You took care of the sheeps and cattle at your home. Making your way to the local shop, you see a crowd of people. They were surrounding someone. All you heard was: "Congratulations!!"

The sounds of the crowd fade away as he closes the door. "Welcome, Link!" The shopkeeper says. He wore a blue tunic with khaki pants and brown boots. His dirty blond hair was tied up to the back. His eyes were as blue as his earrings.

He looked familiar. You stumbled upon each other. Stared at each other in awkwardness. You moved out of his way and paid the shopkeeper for the groceries. As you left, he had his eyes on you. Walking back home, you had forgotten about him until a couple of bokoblins appeared.

You backed away and someone ran past the corner of your eye. It was him again. He defeated the bokoblins to protect you.

"Are you alright?" He asked you. "I'm fine, thank you. I'm in your debt.." You told him. "Wait- No-"

"Are you hungry? Let me make it up to you!"

You made food for the both of you. "Here.." You handed it over to him. "It smells so good! Thank you!" He smiled. You sat down in front of him. "Where did you learn those movements? Can't lie, that was amazing.."

"Training. I'm a soldier at Hyrule Castle." He responded. "Hyrule Castle, huh? How is it over there?" You got excited, ready to ask him many questions. "Huge and beautiful. So much royalty-"

"How about the land? Outside of this village!" You asked. "Even bigger. There's so many things to explore! Have you never been outside of Hateno?" He asked. "Oh..never. My grandma has never let me. She fears I might find something that will cause me to go crazy. I do wish to go out.."

The boy reached out his hand to you. "My name's Link." You took it. "(Y/N)."

"Come with me (Y/N). Just for an hour, I want to show you the many wonder of this land and the foods!"

You thought about it. This could be your only chance.

Minutes later, You and Link snuck out the village to a nearby mountain with a waterfall. "So pretty!"

He took you to Fort Hateno. "It's huge! You saw different people pass by you. Then to some of the stables and you met his horses. You gasped. They all looked so graceful. "Hi!! My name is (Y/N)!"

You two made a last stop at Kakariko village. Close to the shop, you saw your grandma. You gasped and ran to hide somewhere. "Link!" He got down at your level. "She's over there!"

Link took you even farther. You two completely forgot about the hour. Both of you had fun until you saw the night sky. "Oh no! I have to go back!!"

He walked you home but stayed in the shadows because you told him to. You quietly waved at him as you went inside.

"(Y/N)! Where were you? I was worried!" You grandma ran to you. "I was checking out the dye store in the village, the colors they have are so cool!" You told her. "You're not lying to me are you? I checked everywhere in Hateno and I didn't see you.."

"Maybe you didn't see me because it was at the wrong time." You responded. "Alright..then what horses did you see today?" She asked.

"None."

Cold sweat ran down your body. "I certainly didn't see a double of you at the stable, did I?"

"I mean..maybe." Keep denying, it was weird for her to do this.

"Alright..Please don't go outside of this village."

"I won't."

You began having nightmares at night. They screamed so loud in your head. They all shouted your name but..they weren't shouting for you. It was someone else. Everything switched. You were in a forest. Out of a sudden, you saw a treehouse.

You went inside the house and found someone in a green tunic crying. Turning around, you saw a glowing light surround you.

You closed your eyes and once you opened them, you were somewhere else. There was a castle. It was different than Hyrule's. So was the atmosphere. You see a woman crying. The name (Y/N) was being shouted by the boy in the green tunic.

The woman had someone in front of her. Your eyes widen at what you had already witnessed.

Before you knew it, the boy was gone. The light surrounded you.

You woke up freaked out. As you ate breakfast, you began thinking about the girl and the boy.

The girl had your name..

The boy looked a lot like Link.

You heard something from outside and decided to go check it out. Looking around, you saw nothing except a bow on the ground.

The moment you touched the bow, you felt immense power going through you. With the power, many things ran through your mind. They looked like memories.

You let go of the bow.

You went to the goddess statue. "It was just a normal bow. A wooden bow. Nothing happened. Nothing should've happened...Please..! Protect me and my grandma.."

"(Y/N)?" You picked your head up at that voice. "Link!"

"What hap-" You ran to hug him. "I have no idea what happened! There was this woman who had my name! Someone who had you face! They got killed! The woman..she didn't deserve it.."

"It's the first time I've seen this..It felt so weird.." You told him. "When I came in that shop and saw you, I was shocked to see you. I've heard about you. The person who had my face, was probably my ancestor and the one with your name was yours.." Link responded.

You sighed. "I want to keep going outside. This is perhaps what my grandmother didn't want me to find out."

You and Link headed out. Some days, he was busy. "I'm the princess's personal appointment knight!" He shouted. "I'm so happy for you Link!" You two hugged.

He struggled with his relationship with the princess. Some days he was stressed out but he was always happy to see you.

One day, he didn't meet up with you so you decided to go to him. He was by himself. "Link..?"

"Oh Hi (Y/N)! Sorry I didn't go today, I'm thinking about the princess. She's got to like me! I won't be able to be here as much, but I'll still see you!"

It was cloudy the other day, you waited. And waited. And waited. The rain poured down on your face. You took cover back at home and never went back.

The next day, your grandma decided to bring you with her to the little towns in central Hyrule. "You're old enough. Come with me! You can choose anything to explore as we go through the roads!" She smiled.

You picked out new clothes and more groceries. Your frown turned into a smile until the ground shook. "What's going on?!"

Everyone began panicking and ran everywhere. "Hyrule Castle is under attack!!!" Someone shouted at the top of their lungs. Your heart dropped. Link must've been there possibly.

The Sheikah technology the hylians trusted went against them. They destroyed the land. Killed their champions.

As there was a storm and everything was on fire, you had your grandma on your arms. You saw a bright light at Fort Hateno. The guardians were destroyed.

"Grandma..Grandma! They can save you.."
